A large explosion Near an Iranian necluer power plant has happend and some witnesses are saying that and airplane dropped some misslies on it

According to DN (link in Swedish), the explosion was 150 km from the actual plant, which means it probably wasn't an attack.

They're speculating an Iranian plane may have accidentally dropped an external fuel tank.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the official explaination of the Iranian government.

To those without television and other news sources, this will obviously be an attack by the Americans.

This conflict with Iran is heating up! Iran should die! Those nuclear sonuvaguns should be destroyed before they cause any more damage!

I wonder which it was. A falling gas tank or a road crew. WTH is going on

We wont know whats going on for a little while yet. Both the U.S. and Iran are organizing their B.S. regarding the incident. Might have been a UAV that crashed.

Whatever the truth is, it just shows how twitchy the Iranians are feeling at the moment. Cant say I blame them.

Undoubtfully it will crash. US has send drones around Iran since a year as I read today in yahoo news. I guess they didn't just to check out where to place another McDoofnalds.
If war gets as profitable as nowadays you'll see a lot more of it, I bet.
Yesterday was quite a nice documetation on arte - French-German programm. They described the history of America from WW2 till today. Almost each year another conflict. Harsh if you see it all in a row. One argument named that due to no conscripts in Army it is easier now to get things started.
They said one reason for the retreat from 'Nam was that more and more middle class kids got killed. As long as it was only the poor it didn't matter that much.
But today they are all considered as volunteer and therefore less political abjections if they ger fried. Is there some truth about it?
Another point was the connection between Chaney and a huge arm-producer H-smthing. Unfortunately don't remember. But there's a close hugging between poloticians and arm-factories. I wonder wheather this is a good alliance?
Fruitful for sure, but good?
I am convinced that was between Iran and USA is just a matter of time. It has been already decided IMO. So whatever boomed there today, I guess I know what'll boom there tomorrow.

I do not think that war is terribly profitable for the US government right now.

Not for the government, but for the arms companies who pull strings in the government.

Agreed. It is congress which grants the funds and ultimately the taxpayers who have to pay for it. It is definitely not profitable to anyone other than those few companies.

It always is, due to this yesterdays report. Because most of the Senators are involved in firms producing this arms. So with every Apache Army buys they earn themselfs. Thats one drive you can not stop.
Ike warned that god bless America if someone would get President who wouldn't know the Army as good as he did. I guess he had already good hints where the things would develop towards.
I mean why did America fight that many wars the last 60 years? Only to fight commies and other 'crap'? Or may be even because some guys could increase there income a bit? Not the only reason may be but for sure one.
Never trust a politician, they all lie.

I had a little difficulty understanding what you were trying to convey, Eraser, but I think I understand your point.

Individual senators profiting is not the same as the nation profiting. Taxes will go up, other programs will suffer, and the deficit will rise. The nation as a whole will suffer financially.

And yes, the US fought that many wars to stop the spread of communism among other things.

I guess the true reasons for many wars your comrades died for were just not simply to fight commies. I consider this mixed with a lot of propaganda. On the one side I appreciate your solidarity and your patriotism. On the other side I guess you are a bit infected from this propaganda? Why did america fight nam? Because this few ships shooting in this bay? Because of commies invading the free south? Yes, may be and besides because someone made a fat profit.
I honestly don't want to step on your feets, but sometimes I think you don't see the wires you hang on? And why to fight commies at all? Because they are different? Because they wanna concour the world? Right now I have the impression the only ones with the wish to concour the world are the Americans and this doesn't just frighten me, it makes me even more pi**ed. Sorry, I do not mean you person. I really do NOT dislike Amercians as the ppl. Just your gov suxx.

that mutual protection pact they signed with Syria will come into action soon!

I love the new Iranian reaction. From the BBC:
Iran's Supreme National Security Council said there was no incident and that people were stirring trouble with such reports, according to the BBC's Frances Harrison in Tehran. She said the Supreme Council declared that reports of a blast near the nuclear plant were just part of an ongoing campaign of psychological warfare against Iran.
