As of about 20 minutes ago, I got dropped from all active IRC connections and am unable to reconnect. The 2 channels I was in were on 2 different servers and they got dropped simultaneously. The problem's not with trillian, as I can't connect through the equivalant java applets either. I reconnected my dial-up connection twice and am still having the same problem: Trillian is saying "Unable to connect to blah blah blah server." and it seems like my ISP is not allowing port 6667 anymore. Anyone know if there's a way I can test this for sure?

I highly doubt that. Since both connections went down simultaneously (21:52:48), it seems like the port suddenly got blocked or something. And other people on the same servers were still able to see me online as well.

I'm directly connected via modem. I managed to connect through the java applet from school today so it's obviously not the servers. Unfortunately the tech support for my ISP is near-nil since it's run by the public library, any email I send would take up to 2 weeks to get responded to and it's not even my dialup account, it's my father's, so technically I can't ask for tech support since I can't send email from the ISP-issued address.

It's possible that due to the various bot nets running around that are controlled via IRC, your ISP decided to just filter off the standard IRC ports. Very few people have even heard of IRC, let alone used it, so they probably figured they could do it without any issues.
