Iron hearts - Phase II

Zagreb, Belgrade both back in the hands of the Nazis. However the complete lack of troops is a problem for Hitler. Massive bombings of the Russians on the Wilno front. However it will take time to slow down this Russian offensive on two fronts.

Oh, and we shot down a British Spitfire, too! ;)

The British made no action in the air and land. Just sunk a lonely suicidal Italian DD.

The Nazi counter attack in the outskirts of Koenigsberg was neutralized. The German units were destroyed.

The strong presence of the Luftwaffe in the skies is limiting the action of the Red Air Force. Nonetheless, some dogfights were registered. Equal losses for both sides.

Continued skirmishes in Koenigsburg and Budapest. Heavy bombings by the German air force followed by targeted strikes to continue to weaken Russian offensives. Finally, the Luftwaffe is showing signs of turning around the fight in the skies as the sheer numbers of LA-7's are dwindling. Hitler's generals report to the man himself that this will be a grudge match, but the German production engine may be strong enough to hold up.

Another week, another defeat for RAF...

I must say that you are a much better pilot than Tigranes!!!

The Red Army is able to repel and destroy the fanatical attacking Nazi units around Koenigsberg and Budapest, which are firmly held by the Russians.

Maybe the long-term luck is finally going to my side... we shall see!

Some more random skirmishes to pick off Russian and English units along the eastern front. More bombings of the Red Army. It seems we have reached a temporary stalemate, at least until Stalin decides to move further towards Berlin.

Spitfires weren't my largest woes, Lavochkin's were...

The Red Army continue on the offensive. In the North, with the help of the Russian Navy, Gdansk was conquered by the Infantry Shock Divisions.

In the Balkans, Zhukov ordered his motorized divisions to move towards the important city of Prague, near the Germany's heart, and at the sight of Berlin! Left defendeless by the Nazis, Prague was an easy prey and was easily conquered.

In the skies, 2 squadrons of Fw190 were shot down, but at the cost of 3 La-7 squadrons.

Yeah I've been doing ok against the LA-7's, about 50/50. I'm trying to out produce him to eventually take back air superiority, but its a slog and comes at the cost of land units. As you can see, he just has numbers on me and there's only so much I can do...

UK is very pacifist at the moment... we leave all the thrill to the Germans and Russians. It's a long way to July 1944!

I think that the Axis made two fatal mistakes:
1) The Alliance with Norway
2) Declaring war on the USA

.

Despite suffering heavy casualties in the German counter-attacks, the Red Army was still able to keep hold of Prague and Gdansk, which have been reinforced with more fresh divisions.

Nonetheless, the Russian Offensive in Poland continues. Cracow, Warsaw and Tarnopol have fallen into Soviet Control. Fierce fights and heavy losses for both sides.

With the fall of Cracow, three Fw190 squadrons were destroyed. Without air interceptors, the Red Air force was able to employ all their bomber squadrons and the German positions were heavily bombed and weakened.

Yeah... if you guys don't mind I'm going to need to retire to the AI in this game. I literally have no units left except for the immobile defenders. Any units you are seeing are fresh rush-bought units each turn, and there is just no way I can possibly win. Russia just has too many units. I have plenty of regrets and lessons learned to talk about, but I'd like both of you to accept my resignation first before we go down that path.

Yes, it is perfectably understandable. Your starting position wasn't exactly fair.

I would have liked to have seen Rodrigo playing the Axis. Any interest in going back and playing with USSR? (If Rodrigo is willing)

I'd like to play with the Axis. If Nightwawk419 or another player wants to take Russia, we could restart the game at the same point we started this one.

Stalin his Happy with the Nazi's defeat!

I'm going to have to drop out as replaying yet again. I have too many games and the flaws in this mod bother me... but good luck to both of you!

If any of you guys know a modder with rudimentary knowledge of merging mods this great mod can be fixed and be playable. If we could only unload the current air combat modcomp and replace it with working one -- like in Pacific Scenario that will do it.

My understanding is that most mods with enhanced air combat are using Dale's modcomp. He is no longer doing anything Civ4 related. I contacted stolenrays who is very busy atm. I tried to look into this myself with no luck.
