Is anyone successfully playing the game yet?

Does that include the Demo Version?
 
I went home on lunch, and it only took about 5 minutes from clicking play now till I was watching in the intro. Steam must have been updating in the background while I was at work.

I was really impressed by the intro this time. And I started a game as India. Only had a chance to play a few turns before I have to head back, but I'm ready to rock once I get home.
 
My intro video played fine and the game worked. I had to stop and go to lecture though. I'll play more tonight.
 
Yeah the game is working fine on my computer. I've tried the tutorials on my lunch time just for fun (I already know how to play, I've read the 200+ page manual and play civ since 1st one.) The advisors are great help for beginner. I've not tried a real game for now, but my computer wait me after job.

My Spec:
Intel core 2 duo 2.66GHZ
2 GB Ram
ATI HD4850 1 GB video card
Play in DirectX10/11 mode.

1280X1024 all detail at high and antialiasing 4X

Yeah they are off, but all my other settings are high. weird when I tried to turn AA on it wouldnt do it.

Alienware m15x
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit (laptop)
CPU: Intel Core i7 920M @ 2.0Ghz, quad core
System RAM: 4 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
Video RAM: 1GB DirectX11
 
I'm confused. I bought the DVD at a store this morning so I wouldn't have to wait for it to download.

But instead of copying the files it says it's downloading from Steam and will be ready in 7 hours.

I'm not sure what to do... how do I get it to use the files on the DVD?

I just picked up a copy at the store too, but wont be able to try it out until this evening. I kind of remember my Empire Total War wanting to do what you are describing, I cancelled it and tried again from the disks and it worked normal.
 
about 20 thousands people playing the game at the moment (including me :D)
works like a charm, and I dont even meet the recommended requirements

Or Canada.

The game is nice and I am playing on the highest settings.

Having fun mucking around with Siam, collecting city state minions.

Haven't met another Civ yet though and it is 25 AD. :P
 
I have a great game going on now. Playing Egyptians because I’m a weak wonder builder but I befriended a bunch of city-states to get culture bonuses but both Babylonians and Aztecs started gobbling them up. I have great gold coming in and the biggest military on the block but I don’t want to build more buildings or units to cut into my revenue (maintenabce can crush FYI).

So I turn my capacity over to backing some proxy wars. I started cranking units and giving them to city-states under attack. It was pretty cool to back a war like this. Eventually one city state got overwhelmed and they were a strong ally so I had to go to war against Babylon to liberate it and then I took another Babylon city and razed it Akkad in my previous screenie). The Aztec proxy war continues. :)
 
It's very smooth at the moment---using DX10/11 setup & working beautifully with everything pushed to high! I'm rollin' with the Arabians & Harun Al-Rashid... awesomesauce. ;)

I have essentially the same specs and the game runs like poop.

*If it runs at all. Goes blackscreen after intro. If intro disabled then it goes blackscreen faster. :)
 
Most people are too busy playing the game to respond to your thread :lol:

If you're like me, you're stuck at work with only the technical issues threads to entertain you until the work day is over.
 
Playing the game???? I cannot even read what others are doing, due to the server traffic! I am off work tomorrow though.
 
Not working on a Mac, using parallels. Going to try thru bootcamp.

Anyone else get this working on a mac?
