I will wait for the full back fo the box breakdown of the game. But it's likely going to be a guarantee.

They'd have to do something outrageously weird for me not to buy (like making it into RTS or something)

If there is enough differentiation between it and Civ6, and I'm mostly in different civs being in the base game, then yeah, I'll pre-order it. Otherwise, I'll wait for a sale or the first DLC.

In case of previous one I was sold after being able to watch few gameplay videos quill18 released shortly after reveal. Hopefully it will go similar way also this time.
Although I had it "pre-ordered" only because I bought collector's edition. If it's regular copy, then once I'm decided I will most likely still wait until release day to check if nothing explodes in the meantime.

Yes, I will preorder without giving a second thought. In spite of the flaws that Civ6 has and has had during it's life cycle, I still think the developers have done an overall great job with it.
