I couldn't find anything about English being the only allowed language in the forum rules or in the FAQ. So I was wondering if it's allowed to write in non-English languages.
Is it allowed to write in other languages than English on CFC?

You're totally free to type in other languages. Will people understand you? Probably not. 
BTW, you'd have to type in a language that uses the English alphabet, but that goes without saying.

I have had drilled into me since I first registered, no non-English discussions. Since I became a mod, I have followed the same policy. Some posters try to use foreign language posts to circumvent the forum rules. ( I banned one poster for asking for a Civ3 crack in Spanish. Fortunately a sharp-eyed Spanish-speaking poster caught it, and reported it.
) Others just like the feeling of sharing a secret "club", that can only be joined by those who speak the same language. (Which violates TF's dictum against "elitism".)
So, no, don't post in any language but English. Or if you do, translate what you said in the same post.

I could have sworn there was an official document stating that you can post in other languages as long as it's not a "big deal." For example, you can't post a thread in Spanish and basically only let Spanish-speaking people participate. But you can of course say déjà vu, for instance. But I guess I either have a bad memory or that "official document" was downgraded to unwritten rules (maybe I'm just thinking of a post of TF), but based on what the mods have said in this thread, the same rule stands, I guess.
Edit: Now that I think about it, isn't it kind of odd to have "unwritten rules" in an Interent forum? I mean, how else can they be expressed? It's not like I can hear you guys! (Yes, yes, I know what it really means, just thought it's kinda funny.)

There is an English and a Spanish format. I'm positive about that. And I think I remember some people speaking spanish.

That's basically why it's an unwritten rule. Isn't it a universal understanding that when you go to a forum, you post in the language that the forum is in?

But if i want to say something but i dont know how to say it in english, i can still say it in my native language and ask someone who also speaks the language to translate it, can't i?
I would say post it in your language and provide as good a translation (and/or explination) as you can in that same post. Then, if someone else can help clarify it, all the better.

I've posted in spanish a few times without translating, only when I consider it neccesary.

just because, if you were forced to speak all the time in a foreign language it doesnt mean you have like it.
I dont mean I dont like CFC, I mean I dont like english because I dont master it and its sometimes difficult to express what you really want to say
