Pacts of Secrecy. I can never get them to work, nor can I stop ppl from having it against me.

Whenever I meet someone, they seem like they are always borderline-hostile towards me. And I am afraid of declaring war and taking out a city because the person I declare war with SOMEHOW gets EVERYONE against me with a PoS, and then half of those people go to war with me. PoS also get cancelled too frequently for my liking; and whenever they do, it is because someone else had a PoS against me with my partner AI. To me, it seems the only time I get to make Secrecy Pacts are:

1: If AI asks me
2: If I ask and they are almost COMPLETE allies of mine
3: If I ask and the AI pretty much HATES the person I am asking to go against

In a nutshell, I think those are cheap when facing AI. Additionally, I think that it is RARE if you go a whole game (win or not) and not go to war with someone.

Does anyone have this?

I can usually get away with just an early war or two - take out your closest neighbors and get a good military buildup. This will prevent any other early DoW's, and as long as you keep your military upgraded, you shouldn't have any problems.

The AI smells weakness, if you don't have the troops for a two-front was, it WILL backstab you. So don't go to war unless your ready for both fronts

My last game I brought China back to life by liberating her capital city.

The very next turn she thanks me by declaring war on me. :crazyeye::rolleyes:

Resurrected AIs keep their attitude. The only benefit you get is an extra UN vote (and possibly one puppet less to deal with).
