Is it possible to have your funds siphoned before you build a commercial district?

My actual gold per turn is well below my total gold minus my expenses. So I assumed I was getting my precious funds siphoned by a spy.

But I have not built any commercial districts. Id this possible? And if it is not a spy causing the discrepancy, then what is?

• City income = +45.2
• Building expenses = –11
• Unit expenses = –10
• Diplomatic deals = +15

Yet the calculation at the bottom of yields shows total income of 60.5 (vaguely correct) and total expenses of –34 (way too high).

You can't start a syphon funds in a city without a commercial hub so you're probable probably losing money somewhere else though I wouldn't know what.

Do districts have maintenance cost, and is that included in the buildings cost entry?

Do you have screenshots? It tends to be easier to see what's actually going on of we can see what you're seeing. Has this been shown for multiple turns? Sometimes the UI doesn't update until the next turn, so if youbuilt a bunch of stuff this turn, that might explain the discrepancy.

Hey, yes oddly it has persisted long term. Here is a photo (I’m on Nintendo Switch) of the state of my gold yields a number of turns before I did the 15 gold’s worth of diplomacy deals I mentioned in my first post.

So it has persisted for some time now. It would be to the tune of 50+ turns since I first noticed, and still it persists. Odd!

Good thought. I too wondered what constitutes “total expense”, and whether it includes something else in addition to buildings and units.

Anybody know for sure??
