Is it possible to play the game only in "Classical Era"?

Hey civ'ers!

I've been playing civ 5 for the past week. I've noticed that it's really fun and challenge at the beginning of the game with only warriors, archers, and the ancient tretc. However, the game gets pretty boring with advanced units like riflemen, artillery, STEALTH bombers, and etc that can basically steam roll a civ w/o taking much damage.

tl;dr Does anyone know a link to a mod that deletes all the tech tree except for the ancient and classical era?

Also, if you're willing to pay for DLC, I've heard good reports about the Wonders of the Ancient World scenario - while it's a scenario pack, it also completes the list of World Wonders by adding three to the main game that are automatically added to the tech tree. Two of these - Temple of Artemis and Mausoleum of Helicarnassus - are universally useful, and worth adding to the game (although they should have been in it to begin with). It is, I think, also possible to play the scenario as Babylon without the Babylon DLC.

I've tended to agree with you, actually - I always found Civ games less enjoyable after the initial phases of exploration and expansion were over, and units more sophisticated than early gunpowder troops became available (so I'm happy into the medieval era, but not much beyond). Civ V is, if anything, the one I find most enjoyable in the later game stages.

There's also a line of Mods called
End at classical
End at medieval
End at industrial etc. etc.
That wont let the techs go pass certain poins, you can find them from the mod browser.

Are you talking about the opening game set up screen where you would select mods, then go into the online area to download any you want?

I think the End at classical or medieval would be very interesting to play.
