Is it possible to remove modern and industrial age?

The industrial and espcially modern age is grossly unrealistic. Warfare is handled poorly, and the economic system based on 'tiles' just doesn't work anymore. No modern country has become rich and powerful just for having lots of tiles and a huge population.
Any possible way to remove them and have the tech stop at the end of Ren. age?

I don't know of any way except winning a game before you reach the industrial or modern age.

And I think you might be mistaken. There is a lot more to an industrial or modern age than simply having "tiles" and huge population. It's what you DO with your tiles/resources/population that makes your age "industrial" or "modern".

I've won cultural victories without going into the "modern" age because I chose to put everything into culture. But I doubt I could have won the space race with this strategy.
