No.

Everyone needs their own way to unwind.

Gaining 'friends' and being 'cool' is artificial garbage.

...

It depends on the situation. It depends on your age because if you are too old, then it is clearly sin. It also depends on what subjects you like. If you are not a geek, then it is clearly sin. I really could go on about the situations, but you must be really sure that you are in the correct position before you even consider to play, otherwise it is sin. Clearly.

I hope the above post was irony.

If you think playing game is sinful, you need to take a closer look at the evils of the real world.

...

That had to be irony, that's why I ignored it, if it wasn't it's even more funny

Glad I'm not a Protestant. Because regardless of age, I dont see it as a sin. Does Playing Civilization 4, SimCity4, or even Pokemon break any of the commandments? Its silly to me to think that playing a game is sinful.

Even if I go to confession (I'm Roman Catholic) and I tell my priest that I have sinned because I played a few games. He would just look at me and then laugh and say "It's not a sin to play video games here and then. Quit getting your guilts and crazy ideas from thoes Protestants".

So in a nutshell, from the Protestant world, everything is a sin? Playing football (American) is a sin because you're not a jock? What a crazy world :crazyeye:.

It's a sin to abstain from eating meat at a meal because I'm not Vegan? ;)

Pokemon is teh awesome

or...was teh awesome

Though its off topic: Catholics (Post-Vatican II) typicaly only abstain from eating meat on Fridays that falls during the Lent season and Ash Wendsday. There are exceptions which includes the elderly and the young children.

That much I am aware of, and it was not why I came up with that comparison, I meant it as a general poke at classical_hero as a flaw in his logic ;), I wasn't referencing Catholicism at all...although admittedly I do not know why it is Catholics practice this, it's not something I've learned a lot about...but yes, that is a topic for another thread

on a less OT note

I didn't mean 'was teh awesome' as in it's not awesome

...I just haven't played in years/can't afford to/who in the world would play it with me? I still have all my cards though...only one isn't from the original 150, and I got it before the US release.

Again, I don't think he said "sin" in the biblical sense of the word. ;)

From this thread, I actually dusted off my old gameboy and started playing Pokemon again. Simply wasn't as fun as I remember, sadly. Which is a shame, as most of the games I used to love I enjoy even more if I get the chance to play after such a long time.

Brave words considering how many posters here say otherwise

I wished he would expand upon that word. The context the Protestants use the word is very confusing ;).
