I been trying to figure out this issue with my new desktop i was building and i gave up on multiple ocations. Now I wanted to give it another go with no luck but I saw somewhere that my problem might be that the power supply I have may not be strong enough.

So here are the stats the motherboard is a MSI K9A26M-F V3

And the info you need on the power supply i believe is AC in which is :100-240V~,5.3A,50-60Hz

Now I read that the amp on this PSU might be too low .

What actually happens once i plug the desktop in and turn it on is that the fan starts spinning and from what I can see the motherboard is working, I can turn the power on from the button on the front of the case, meaning the wire is plugged.

However thats about everything that happens I have the screen plugged into the on board videocard to rule out problems with different videocard, but the screen seems to not be connecting or getting any signals from the mobo because nothing apears on it and the light on the screen next to the power button just keep blinking as if the pc was off or standby.

Also and this may not be an issue but I dont hear the hdd working, like you normally would hear it making some sound especially when starting up.So because of the hdd not apearing to run its normal stuff im thinking it might be the supply indeed.

Now I would feel really stupid if this turned out to simply be a power supple since i had the desktop standing around for 6 months or more, but at least I would know it was that and would be able to fix it.Help is really appreciated, thanks in advance.

If you need more info on specs let a message so I can add what you need.

We need to know the model of the Power Supply and the model of the Graphic Card

And also if you have something out of the ordinary like a large number of high performance HDD, multiple CD/DVD/Blu Ray Writers, high performance CPU or Overclocking.

Some tips for troubleshooting:

Remove all unecessary stuff, basically keeping the the Motherboard with the CPU, RAM on it, attached to the Power supply, the Power and Reset buttons and the PC Speaker (if its not integrated, so you can hear any beep error-codes).

Reset the BIOS, if its still does not boot (and gives no Beep-code error) something is likely broken.

It's a FSP group power supply.

I removed any extra things that are not needed to test it out, right now the only things connected are a normal WD 80 gig hdd,2 gig ram and the cpu.

I didnt think about the PC speaker for the error codes,I might have not plugged that wire into the mobo.

Reading the OP better, I'd first rule out that you have a truly compatible video connection. E.g. the right DVI connection. Some plugs can connect but aren't actually making metal-metal contact.

If you can rule that out, then I think it is more likely that either your PSU to mobo connection is a little wonky, the PSU is under-amped as you suggest, or maybe the onboard video was damaged.

But yeah if it doesn't beep (fails to POST), then it's probably more fundamental than video conflict/connection.
