Is remoulade unhealthy?

What is remoulade? This isn't Vegemite Redux, is it?

Besides, think moderation, anyways. Well...usually.

no it's tasteful. And yellow. You can eat it with french fries. My English book translates remoulade into, err, remoulade,
According to the ingredient label it contains:
38% water
35% vegetable oil
11% sugar
5% estragon-vinegar
4% dried cabbage
3% pasteurized yolk
2% dried onion
2% spices

1g protein
15g carbonhydrate
37g fat

Well....if there's lemonade....then maybe this is "ade of remoul." Now that it sounds worse than "remoulade," we have to figure out what it is.

So what the hell is remoulade?

Your description makes it sound like sugar water with vegetable oil.

Do you drink it or use it as a condimant? The -ade makes it sound like a drink.

High carb and fat count.....so.....yeah, definitely moderation here!

Close to how I immagined that Ferengi product, Sluggo-Cola, being :vomit:

How does something that is four-tenths water have so much carbs and fat? Maybe it is something from space.

Anything processed, irradiated, cooked, pickled, pesticide sprayed, laced with perservatives, shot up with antibiotics & hormones (in the case of flesh foods) etc. (pretty much everything in your non-organic grocery store) is bad for you, it's just a question of how much.

Anything with the first three (non water) ingrediants being vegtable oil, sugar & vineger is probably extra bad for you.

marlamade is delicious.

Whatever this junk is, is not delicious sounding, sounds like a yellow version of v-8 with oil in it.

Remoulade (ray-muh-LAHD) – A chilled flavored mayonnaise used in French cuisine. It includes mayonnaise, anchovies or anchovy paste, mustard, capers, and chopped pickles that are served as a dressing for cold meats, poultry or seafood.

-From "History of Sauces" @ whatscookingamerica.com

I had some excellent shrimp remoulade in New Orleans. Cold and mustardy. Delicious but definitely not healthy.

Is it carbonated? :p

I heard all carbonated drinks eventually lead to cancer. The bubles cause stomach acids to splash out (burps?) from the stomach into the throat where they cause damage leading to cancer.

I usually put that on fries, it does indeed taste well. And just like mayonnaise (it is mayonnaise with some spices, after all) it is anything but healthy. But so are fries and who cares?
