What a nasty cheater of an executioneer, not only to unjustifyingly stop Störtebecker´s attempt to save his men, but also to behead those eleven who were rightly saved. Störtebecker´s body should have kicked him in the nuts! I´m glad the evil executioneer got what he deserved as well! I wonder if the severed head of Störtebecker had some sort of telephatic connection with the body to direct his running?

I agree the tripping and execution the other pirates anyway was sort of lame. But the fact that he threatened the entire senate with execution: kudos for that.

I don't particularly enjoy watching dogs getting beheaded. Could you give a summary of the results of this "experiment"?

No, don´t watch it! Most disturbing thing I´ve ever seen! They beheaded a dog, and kept it alive with an artificial heart, supplying oxygen to the head. They performed some tests on the head, and it reacted to touch, smell, sound and light. It should also have eaten a bit of cheese, that came out on the other end of the table. According to the clip, the "dog" lived for hours, but according to other sources it died within minutes.
I really, really hope it´s fake. The lack of any blood, the lack of a clear shot of the other end of the head and the way the head moves makes it very suspicious, but it seems reasonable to believe a head could survive a few minutes if oxygenated this way. I´m afraid it could be real...

Some animals can obviously live for quite a while with horrendous injuries... I saw another Youtube-clip (couldn´t find it now), with a fish half-eaten that grew new fins, and survived like any other fish!!

Well never mind... someone already mentioned to dog heads. Oh well.
Unfortunately the principal is very real and has been done not only as shown, but to the extent of putting a dog or a monkey's head on another animal... where the head continues to live for days, quadraphonic and in intense discomfort (imagine not being able to breathe yet not needing to)
Should we ever figure out how to let one's brain heal into another body's nervous system, well that will be odd.
AFAIK a dog can't move its head and neck as it did in the film ("reacts to external stimuli") without the body below the neck, as the muscles that move it are attached to bones down there. So, "as shown" seems unlikely...?
The same Russian scientists that kept that dog head alive, also killed dogs by draining them from blood. Then after 10 minutes, they pumped the blood by with the autojector and managed to revive the now zombie dog!!!
