Works great for me:

P4 3.0ghz
Radeon 9800 pro 128MB
1GB of 433mhz DDR ram.

WindowsXP Pro.

Running @ 1280x1024, high gfx, 2AA.

It's bareable, but that's as positive I can be. I play on 1024x768 with low settings and on a standard map moving around is very sluggish, as is unit movement and commands. But load times and waiting in between turns are actually faster than Civ3.

P4 1.7 GHz
1024 MB RAM
Geforce 5500 256 MB

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Geforce 6600. Think that will help? Or should I go for a faster processor instead? Can't by both, have to go with just one option...

I would hold off on buying it until you upgrade. I have a very, VERY hard time believing that the guy with the 866mHz processor is running the game at all, much less with no problems.

I borrowed a copy of Civ4 from a friend just to test out this theory. My computer is an AMD Athalon 900 with 512mb of RAM and a 128mb ATI video card. Not only did the game install flawlessly but it ran smoothly on the highest video settings on a small map (I played for over 2 hours). I imagine I will experience some slowdown during the Modern Age and will not be able to play games on huge or even large maps, but hey, CIV4 WORKS ON MY UNDERSPECED COMPUTER!!! WOOT!!! :D :goodjob: :D
