Isolated emperor start

hmmmm ....

Consider his military production of 1500 (he is Imp and could construct plenty M.Academies)
This means 10 units could be produced each turn.
20 turns last to collect 200 more units. This is the difference beetwen your Cyrus and mine. That's not so terribly long.

but it's terribly painful!

@ Multineer:

I´m quite sure that your number are correct even without having a closer look...

...

Cyrus alone had almost 400 units before I started the war... ...If I count the soldiers of Cyrus allies into my total account, team Cyrus really had over 500 units 1 turn before I started the war

@ all:

I don´t want to replay this endgame, but I would like to test my newly learned endgame domination taktics... ...so I would prefere to do one more domination attemt:eek:

What do you think???

Or should the next game really be an immortal space-race challange (like supposed already by some players)???

You shold not collect to many troops next time. Or maybe Cyrus found no profit in constructing buildings, when happyness and healthiness was fine. In my game Cyrus was peaceful, so had few Military Academies and this (my) advantage procented every year.

P.S. I believe in those numbers

possible
or the wars that went on before you could leave your rock made him build a horde of troops?

I guess there is somewhere a compromise. If we kill him too many cavs, he will have plenty of academies, but too few time to build strong military. But if he leads his wars in a clever way, his looses are smaller and military production is high. If he is peaceful all the game, he has strong military but without military production.

There is also one another important value: the duration of war. My war ended quickly (after 10 turns he was destroyed). I did not gave him any chance to show his production quality.

I think the player collecting units can´t be the reason, because I produced/upgraded my units very quick (about 100 modern units in 30 turns). I checked via worldbuilder and found out that Cyrus had his army already ready before I started troop production. He only upgraded cavs to gunships during this period... ...but he had that many cavs, that he ran out of money for upgrading and I even killed 7 cavs he threw at me:lol:

Getting bored of buildings isn´t correct either I think, because I looked aound with the worldbuilder some saves back in my game and he was building mainly research and wealth (he was researching really slow... ...probably had some cash problems due tu upkeep:p)

You were faster then me... ...but I think this is exactly right... ...in my game, Cyrus had two very short wars, where he stomped over one of the other AI´s each and vassalized them very quick. So he had few losses and lots of troops left

You two were just unlucky, I think. My Cyrus was stopped a bit by building Apollo Program and Wonders. He even complited the Eiffel Tower and Rock'n Roll in the same turn :crazyeye:

Well, so I repeat it:D

... I would set up a new game starting tomorrow night, after I finished the summary of this endgame, so I need your feedback what it should be like

I guess Military Production is not so important, but the fact of the decision the AI stands for. If the city has Military Academy and Heroic Epic, the AI's are more likely to produce military units.
I think building strong military does not take so much time.

Domination sounds fine, but personally I would like a Space Race, it would my second in history. And Immortal guarantees that it will be high scored Space Race of mine.

I'll have one more go at the current endgame tomorrow night. For a second domination attempt i think we should stay on emperor, immortal domination seems kind of rough after this experience. Alternatively we can throw in a space race game (faster then domination anyway) and then go back to domination issues.
