Issues with Civ III Complete on Steam

Hey!

First of all, thanks for reading this post.

When I try to open the game via Steam, it just crashes without nothing coming up. I'm using Windows 7 x64 Professional. I tried to run as Admin and XP SP2 mode but nothing. I know that Steam says that is only for XP/2000, but surfing around I could see a lot of people playing fine.

Does anyone had this problem? Any tips?

Hi mozovisk, I'm afraid I don't have a solution, but having a similar problem and didn't want to start a new thread.
In the last week (since a steam update) Civ 3 doesn't launch properly the first time. It does show up as an active process in task manager, so what I've been doing is killing that process, closing steam out, re-starting again and it has been working on that second retry. No idea why and would like to see if anyone has suggestions, cheers! I'm on windows XP, SP3.

Well thx for this thread. i want to download civ3 complete, but it said windows somthing only so i havnt. now i will tho. its only f7 dollars and if it doesnt work ill try engineers idea. hey add me my steam is the_killer_jay
