Italy.... Actually just a part of it...

OK, nobody seemed to help me with the map I needed when I posted the other thread, so I tried to make it myself. But I got into serious problems. First of all I think the western coast of the Black Sea from varwnos' map was a little flawed, the gulf going to much to the west. But I tried and built the rest of the coastline from there. I think it looks decent, but I need some comments on that part!

I also made the Dalmatian coast, though Istria looks a little too small, or a little strange anyway (just my opinion).

But the map I need has also Italy! And I prove to be totally impotent. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't draw Italy to look at least decent. I don't even need all Italy on the map! Just enough to have Rome (which I think will fit in this map, at it's current size) as a production center for the Roman civilization, that will help them in the expansion to the east.

So could anyone at least draw the coastline of Italy on this map? Just the coastline, just a part of a peninsula of Europe, come on, I'm not asking for so much, am I?

Now, if anyone wants to help me, here's some technical information:​

• For now, I don't need the full Italy, just a grassland (or plains, or whatever makes it look good) silhouette of the shore. I'll have to balance all terrain, later.
• There are two maps. I made the first one and somewhat liked the way it looked, but looking on real maps, the Black Sea has no such a big gulf at its West, so I added some terrain to fill that part. If you want to help me, pick the one you think looks better. Neither of them is perfect, but I personally like the second one more, seems more realistic.
• If you look on the map, you see there is a verticl line of sea somewhere at the west. I need the map just AT THE EAST of that line. The vast Coast area from the west is not going to be there in the final version. So just make the coastline of Italy until the vertical sea line (I'm anyway going to cut that part from the final version, or do something strange with it, I'll see).

Use his PTW Europe map. That's what I did in my Greek scenario, and it fits pretty much perfectly. He also said in my thread something about a Punic Wars map that you may wish to look into.

BTW, here's a small suggestion: if you want to take a better screenshot of the minimap from now on, go to the editor (doesn't work if you're in game), focus the view on a point in the middle of ocean tiles (or sea, if you've got no ocean), zoom in as much as possible, until the white rectangle is as small as possible, go in paint, copy some pixels from the color of the representation of the other ocean tiles, and paste it over the white rectangle (should be small enough if you zoomed in as much as possible).

Well, actually, the part of the Black Sea that is too wide was MUCH wider in varwnos' original map, I changed the black sea a lot. I actually put a lot of terrain in the black sea to fill the gulf that the original map had and it's still a little too wide. I'm not saying it's not a little too wide, but it's more realistic now in my opinion.

It's a nice region, lots of medieval history and nice old buildings, together with great snow this year.

I realized I was going to need Rome on my map, so I made a bigger version. The Italian coastlines are almost finished. I realize it looks empty in the left side, as there is no Sicily, nor other islands from the Mediterranean.

This is an alternate version. What do you think, which one of those looks better?

The Italian coast details need a tiny bit of work.
Sicily definitely needs to be redone, it doesn't look right right now. That's all, but a great start!

Which coast of Italy do you think should be worked on?

I made some small changes to the Italian coast, I made everything a little smoother.

But, honestly, I don't see what's wrong with Sicily.

The Italian Coast near Naples area is a little shaky. The West Coast really just needs to be polished.

On Sicily, it needs to extend a few tiles West, and it needs to be more pointy on the Northeast Tip.

If you mean the three gulfs, they are there on the real map.
With some forests and hills they will look more natural, I think.
