Rather than play a huge terra map with 18 civs on Prince, I decided to play one on Noble but with aggressive AI's. These guys are psychos!! I get dogpiled by multiple civs from all sides despite reasonable relations and the fact that most of these guys are not my neighbours. The AI's are fighting each other too though so kinda fair. The stacks they are sending my way are HUGE and even though they are made up of slightly obsolete units (ie war elephants and horse archers vs. my defending longbowmen and pikemen), they are still really dangerous because they know how to pillage too. Just now, the Khmer took my city of Magyar in the east. I killed many of their units but they took the city with like 5 units remaining and then reinforced it with like 10-15 more units.

Meanwhile, I'm doing better in the west where I just took Monty's city (I attacked him after he attacked me and we signed peace) and am moving on to capture more. In addition, Ghengis also declared war from the east and sent a few sizable stacks (ie. 10 units each). He managed to capture Baghdad but I took it right back. Luckily, I'm still the most advanced civ and have the highest GNP so this game is still winnable but Suryavarman can destroy it easily with his giant army. I have another question though. I have iron in my territory and it is connected by road or naval route to all my cities yet I cannot build any cuirassiers (it says I lack iron). Maybe enemy spies are around?!?

My Advice: if you ever play with aggressive AI's, build military and nothing but military. Either way, take a look at the save and feel free to make suggestions.

I had this happen also - so I put a spy on the tile - nothing.

The game never game me credit for that resource. Until I got a third Iron the AI's constantly pillaged my one source. Keep the workers busy on it.

The good news is I found out where your iron went. The bad news is You still won't be able to build cuirassiers. You have a trade going with Ghandi. Iron for horses.

Ya, I figured it out too. I should probably stop the trade since I need iron more. When I traded it in the first place, I'm sure I had 2 sources of iron .. guess one was pillaged. But how am I gonna deal with the Khmer SoD? :crazyeye:
