Trolling is actually a fishing term; you're fishing for trouble. It's closer to goading/incitement, than to be rude.
Initially was going to correct the term to trawling ... however getting my new best mate out (Oxford Dictionary) ... found that indeed trolling is a fishing term ... something new learnt ... thank you

I think the following should also be included:

Flip = Cultural conversion
Rep hit = Reputation hit
Beeline = Going straight for a specific tech in the tech race, ignoring everything else.
ROP rape = Using a ROP to get all your troups next to the opponent's cities then conquer all of them in one turn.
SoZ = Statue of Zeus
MP = Millitary Police/Multi-player
Lux = Luxury resource
Barbs = Barbarians
Commie = Communism
RL = Real life (as opposed to Civ life ;))

MA can also mean "Military Aliance"

Also, the civ traits AGR, COM, EXP, IND, MIL, REL, SCI, SEA could be included too.

"pop" can also be used as in "pop a goody hut", usually(i think) with regards to barbs, i.e. "popped barbs from the hut".

Also, I think COL or CoL (Code of Laws) should be on the list; took me nearly 18 months to figure out what that meant.

"ROP rape = Using a ROP to get all your troups next to the opponent's cities then conquer all of them in one turn."

What does this mean exactly?

Establish a right of passage with another civ so you can move your armies into their land without them telling you to leave. Then mass your armies next to their cities. When your armies are in place, you declare war and capture their cities before they can mount a defense.

The list could also include:

BW - bronze working
IW - iron working
MM - map making
WC - warrior code
CB - ceremonial burial
HBR - horseback riding (this drove me crazy at first...horseback is one word. ;) )
Mono - monotheism
ToG - Theory of Gravity
SM - scientific method
MP - mass production (in addition to military police)

I think noobs have a lot of trouble remembering all the techs available, and the abbreviations make it even tougher. I still struggle with which order they come in for some eras.

I never use those. Ever. I've never seen those either.

(Actually, I'd probably rate Starcraft as the greatest non-Civ computer game ever.)
Hey, I call Civ (2) the greatest non-Starcraft game ever also :D

I call your attention to the following quote in the "Military Quotations" section of today's update: "Victory favors neither the righteous nor the wicked it favors the prepared. (Unknown)" And now a link. Scary...
