JFD and Janboruta's Civilisations

Does the tavern yield happiness? I figured the point of it being a zoo/theatre was so that it'd yield all that happiness that Italians, and the rest of us tbf, get from copious amounts of wine. (lots)

EDIT: Post 9999 oh man thats cooler than 10000

EDIT 2: Apparently it does, in that case I figure it does make sense then.

Nice quads.

Happy 10010 10000 posts JFD and Jan!

nooooo the 10000th post was for Kerfuffle ;~;

WAIT GUYS I GOT THIS
Spoiler :
5emPxVe.png

Hahaha! Omg this's perfect - especially the shopped user details on the side!

I did say though that I would probably miss it, so it wasn't totally unexpected... But my god I literally decided to take a nap 5 mins before the lead up to the 10000th spot. :crazyeye:

Spoiler :
Something will be coming in the future in place of the missing spot though ;)

Finally somebody notices - takes a lot of work to stay this in shape guys.

Holy crap, quads to dubs without missing a beat.

But I digress.

Anyway, I played a fair bit with Ferdinand I, and he is actually fairly fun to play! I was able to build an armada fairly quickly, beating England to Frigates and therefore managing to snipe their Capital before they even had a chance at competing. I went on to capture quite a few other coastal cities before settling down and beginning to trade around. The quantity of cities I had allowed me to go for a good Science victory with ease, and I eventually won by it due to a plethora of factors. It was great!

I realize this question has probably been asked a million times, but I actually couldn't find an answer or a link, so I'll ask it.

Is there a simple way to just download all of these civs in one link? So that in the mod screen I just need to click on thing? Would also make it easier to keep up with alterations/additions if there was one master mod for all these, rather than having to keep an eye on every civ.

JFD, I know this is unrelated to your civs, but I don't see a Claims and Colonies thread, so will the Great Dignitary only be able to enforce peace between you and an enemy or can you also use to enforce peace between any two belligerents? If not, would it be able possible to mod that in somehow, particularly as an ability for a unique Dignitary?

And also, since you're making the GD create Defensive Pacts instead of directly enforcing peace, would the GD be able to create Defensive Pacts with anyone, not just civs you're at war with?

Sorry that it's a lot of questions. I was just considering completely changing a civ I was doing to make it a lot cooler with Claims and Colonies.

For the life of myself I cannot imagine how that would make things easier. Given the sheer number of mods here it sounds more like a disaster waiting to happen.

Really? A single folder with all civs he has created, rather than having to download them all individually, would be a disaster? As far as I know they are all compatible with each other, no?

It might be convenient to you, but JFD would have to reupload the entire pack (I can only imagine how large it would be ) every time a change is made, no matter how minor it is, or whenever he releases a new civ. It's just inviable.

That makes sense. Oh well. Thanks.

Precisely why I ceased support on my Packs that I currently have. Since I made my 'final update' to the Turks, Great Britain, et al., I've had to update them several times. A pack is simply dreadful to me.

However, I am making smaller, era-bound packs, which would at least make it a bit easier for users.

The Defensive Pact would be only with civs you're at peace with. However, I probably won't maintain this, as more than likely it has the same issue as with forcing peace - it doesn't create a treaty, and so will never expire. Hence, I labelled it as temporary on the wiki. What will probably happen is the Great Dignitary will take the Influence side of Trade Missions, whilst Merchants will take the Gold and WLTKD (from CBP) side.

Any chance you'll make one update once you finish updating all of your civs?

Tavern comes too early for Two Sicilies, though it would make a bit more sense thematically.

According to that logic, since Two Sicillies doesn't exist in 4.000 BC when you'll start your game in Ancient Era, shouldn't you automatically loose? ;)

In my humble opinion, premise of Civilization game isn't the same as Europa Universalis. You'll play as immortal leader of one of the civilization that begin their journey right in the beginning of the men. Your civilization doesn't become Two Sicilies, it is one right from the start.

When you'll start in Ancient Era, you'll do that as Two Siclies, not Sicinians or Etruscans. When you'll start in Classic Era, you'll do that as Two Sicilies, not Rome. When you'll start in Medieval Era, you'll do that as Two Sicilies, not Arabs, Normans or Kingdom of Sicily.

Look at some vanilla civs.
Does Nobel Prize exist in Classic Era? Does Solidarity were formed in Medieval? Of course not, but that doesn't prohibited those civs from using those unique abilities!

Does Brazil exist in Renaissance? No, but you don't have to wait until Industrial Era to build all those brazilwood camps, do you? :)

Of course, this is your own mod, you'll do what you please. Just my two cents, why your argument isn't really valid.

Have a nice day :)

Okay maybe a bit to late, but how about the Great Dignitary force open borders? It could help a great lot since the AI sometimes makes such ridiculous demands. Forcing defensive pacts does sound awesome though, when C&C is released I could roleplay like 90% of Dutch history
Now if only the AI played along.......

Contrary to the vanilla designs, I prefer my uniques to be roughly in the same era as the leader - as I tend to focus more on the leader than the civ itself. Hence, the Tavern is too early. Nothing to do with the vanilla design logic.

You can't force Open Borders, and it would have the same issue anyway.

To what?

Brazil's colonization started in the Reinascence, and Brazilwood camps were the first economic exploration... thing Portugal did here.

@JFD: the packs. Specifically, the WWII and Alt leaders one.
(I just want all mods modifying vanilla leaders in one place, because I never play without them)

WWII Pack will be updated eventually, but not the Alt Leaders pack. That will be discontinued.

I think C&C would be released soon(no idea how soon, though), since the wikia page of C&C is frequently updated these days.

Yup. Just a few loose ends to tie up first.
