Rise up o great Indian nation. The spirits tell of the coming of the White man, who seeks to enslave us, and rid us from our lands. Protect our mother earth!

Civ: Monty
Difficulty: Prince Level
Map Type: 2 Continents
Size: Standard
Opponents: Inca, British, French, Spanish
Speed: Epic

Starting Location
Inca and Monty will be on the larger continent, B,F, and S will be on the smaller continent. The Europeans will need galleons to cross to our continent.

Variants
1) We MUST be friendly with Capac. He is our spirit-brother. However, if he allies with any European, we must destroy him! We must only allow ourselves to trade technologies with Capac.

2) We always must worship Mother Earth. We cannot adopt a state religion, other than no state religion. Theocracy is our only available religious civic. If we found a religion, we cannot build its shrine.

3) We cannot destroy Mother Earth. No chopping of healthy forests or jungles unless to improve resources. We must adopt Environmentalism the turn it comes available.

4)We cannot build any ancient and classical Wonders, except Chicen Itza

5) We can only trade resources with the Europeans.

6) We cannot allow Europeans to settle on our continent. Any European settlement is an afront to Mother Earth, and must be razed, regardless of whether or not we have technological superior forces. We must attack!

Which Brave Indian Warriors will answer the call of dear Mother Earth?

Our Brave Chiefs are:

JerichoHill
DarthBeer
TheFigMan
MadViking
Strauss
RDDC05

Excellent!

DarthBeer is the first chieftain of the tribes to have the wisdom and foresight of his fathers.

I will make the map tonight, I know people like to see starting location etc. Basically, I will have to edit the map so that the three guys are on the smaller continent and us and capac are on the bigger.

I'm wondering if we should be restricted to our continent, or would the indian nation be so afronted by european insensitivty that they would raid overseas.

We are Montezuma

Our Strengths Are:

Aggressive
Free Combat I promotion of melee and gunpowder units.
Double production speed of Barracks and Drydock.

Spiritual
No anarchy.
Double production speed of the Temple.
Out Unique Unit is the Brave. Foreigners may call him Jaguar. Our Braves do not need Iron for their weapons.

Here's the screenshot of our native land.

What I observe:
We're going to pop a goody hut immediately. Pretty cool! That was totally random!

We've got some commerce bonuses to our North, hills to our west (plains hills!) and a plains hill to our South.

We can settle on the plains hill after turn 1. I am very tempted to do that, because it's such an advantage to have in the early game.

I'm hopeful that the desert next to the grassland to our south might be a floodplains, and we'll have fresh water...maybe we're near coast.

First action should be to move the scout to the plains hill.

Now remember, we have our long-lost brothers somewhere.

Discuss amongst the council

I'll be taking the first 20 turns. We'll go 15 until around 1AD, then 10 all the way.

Nice starting point. Lots of forest for chopping wonders in the future. What about, after moving the scout to the plains hill, following the river and seeing where it goes?

TheFigMan

Sadly, we're aren't allowed the ability to chop, unless we can make an improved resource. It's up for debate about how to handle chopping forests on hills. I'd say since mining a plains hill yields additional hammers, that's okay. But we can't chop plains hill. We've also got to try and settle in non-forested squares to protest mother earth.

I think that is the best path for the scout, more than likely we're north of the equator given the river flow.

Remember, we can't build any ancient or classical wonders. Except Chichen Itza, and we should do our best to get that (would be appropriate, dont you think?)

I say if we're going to preserve forests we do it across the board, if for nothing else its easier to remember. With the exception of extracting a resource of course.
Also, I cant see the attachment, is it just me?

This sounds fun, sign me up as well as the suitor SG seems to slowly be drawing to a close

You are a very wise Chief DarthBeer. The spirits agree. We may only harm our tree-brothers if their sacrifice nets us a "resource".

Strauss, you are the final Warrior to join our cause. The spirits have spoken, and the time of the Indian Nation is now!

FYI: This won't start till Sunday. In the meantime, let's focus on how we want to work the start

1) We can't settle in place, because we harm trees. Therefore, I believe the best thing to do is to go to the plains hill and settle there next turn.

2) Move the scout up to the hill, just to make sure.

3) We are definitely in the north, look at the tundra above us. We should explore Southerly.

4) I do not see an obvious advance to research. I'm thinking farming, if nothing but the freshwater grassland tiles.

5) I probably should focus on building a warrior/ then worker.

Your thoughts o wise council?

I agree with the above.

O great Tribes , here the words of the Great Spirit, who shall tell us all how we came to be. In the year 3980, Technotilan was founded, the first of many great cities, by the shore of a great ocean and the bed of a mighty river. Our brave scout, Lightning Fleetfoot, set out to scout our lands. In his travels he came across many of our scattered brethen, who joined our ranks. One tribe had mastered the art of "mining" the land, though they take great care in not disturbing that which Mother Earth created.

Another tribe gave us a map, for they were explorers. Finally, two other tribes gave us tribute, totalling 148 gold. Our brave scout fought a lion and barely survived, and is on his way home now to heal. Be sure he gets back my brothers.

We have a band of warrior braves now scouting the lands. In their travels they've selected sites for new settlements. Our people will soon be able to work their lands, and we hope to build farms in the fertile grasslands to increase our numbers, and mine the one grassland hill nature gave us.

We have learned Farming, and are working our way to understanding how to tame the wild animal called "Cow".

----
Please finish the worker, and build farms.
We need another warrior
Heal the scout and send him back out.

We have met no one yet.
