OK, managed to get cows/spice/rice (Tlateloco) settled. Started on an archer, not sure if that is exactly what we need there though.
Got another fogbuster out and half-way to another worker. An Obelisk almost done in Teotihuacan. The worker there is building a farm, because I figured it would be another 20 turns until we could work the wheat and we would want better growth before then. After that I suggest he connect the two rivers to get Tlateloco hooked up, while sending the worker on deck up to hook up bronze and then wheat. Furs are hooked up and worked for extra commerce.
There is a barb city to the northwest of Tlateloco, settled next to wine and sheep (they're Barbarians, of course they would want wine and sheep!). The warrior garrisoning the city is Combat 2, so the 2 barb warriors that attacked on the turn after the city was founded barely dented him on that hill.
I started Meditation on the way to Code of Laws, and signed Open Borders with Huayna. I figured the variant requires we be friendly with him and we're not exactly blotting out the map with our cultural borders anyway.
