JNES: Learning to Walk

No no, We have lived all our life in the forests, hiding for other people who we think that are not devine and developed the way we are, for we do not want other people to marry anyone of us there are no other cultures within ours then our own....got it :)

well, I'm guessing that either I or erez is going to be resposnsibel for giveng you a rather nasty nasty reality check eventually ;)

:mischief:

Well I haven't yet posted my history and story....so watch out ;)

(OOC @ erz- all your "Italian" names dont sound very Italian. and dreadnought is whoel sale copying Rome- this leaves me to show you both how its done properlly, )

first it's erez.
second, I never tried to copy Roman names. I like making my own civilizations and cultures and names and I'm using way too many A's at the beginning of namesso it's sounds roman (or more greek to me..)

and guys don't start flooding the thread with useless posts, not before the game starts ATLEAST.

Actually, not sure about the rest of his names, but they do sound Latin to me. Then again, I remember Xen taking "Preternaturia" for "Slavic", so...

Anyway, I do believe that it would be interesting (and realistic) if three culturally-similar nations were to start close to each other. Add to that Jason's NPCs...

Am in a hurry, forgot to add - I'm still thinking about cultural details, but I claim some place in that very large northeastern hilly area. The one without mountains.

Calas'ai
Government: Imperial Republic
Ruler: Empress Sai'la
Capital City: Calas
Religion: Ant'ail
Economy: Okay
Income: +1 (100% Land Taxes)
Men Available: 5,000
Army:
Navy: 10 Galleys
Culture: 1
Infrastructure:
Approval Rating: 50%
Resources: None
Major Wonders:
Short Background: On the shores of the Dain'ne sea, the city of Calas is somewhat removed from the heartland of early civilization, yet has established itself as a key nation nonetheless. Removed as they are from the other nations, the Calas'ai'i developed a number of societal "quirks" - among them, egalitarianism, a natural extension of their nomadic life on the grasslands from whence the earliest settlers of Calas came. Numerous other tribes related to the Calas'ai'i still roam the local area, and a number of small towns have sprung up, though none which rival Calas in strength or grandeur. Much of the food of Calas and of all of Calas'ai is from ranching. Traditionally, the Calas'ai'i guided livestock on the open grasslands, and still they do today. Orchards are also commonplace in the nation, with apples being by far the most prevalent. Fishing is a relatively recent development, but, as Calas is built on the shores of fish-rich Dain'ne Sea, it has rapidly become a major part of the Calas'ai'i diet. Grains are also grown in large numbers along the River Sare'sen which lies within Calas'ai'i influence.

More later. Oh, and I reserve yellow as my color. And Xen took my spot :(

The people of Jamailla Eden

The people of Jamailla Eden are said to come from elsewhere, not from this planet, for they are pale and long and very skinned but strong. The palenes is due to the fact that they live in the forest of Eden. This forest is the oldest on the planet with trees that reach the heaven, some say that that's how the Jamailla Edens got here, the truth or just a silly story, it remains strangely that the people of Jamailla Eden are so different from other peoples.

The City Jamailla

Hidden in the forest of Eden lays Jamailla, some buildings and palaces are placed in trees others under the ground and above. The people that life in Jamailla are very skilled in making art like pottery and weapons of war, the Jamailla Edens are especially skilled in Archery, the bows are as big as a normal person but for the Jamailla Edens perfect, the arrows are lightweighted and sing in the air when shooted. The only place in the city where there is a park and sunlight is oposit the palace of Nar Ketricken the king and chosen one by Mother Nature.

The religion

People of Jamailla Eden believe in the fact that Mother Earth made the people of their kin, they respect the nature and all of the animals. though the respect for everything that lives they are never in aw of other people and do not easily trust others but their own kin.

Nar Ketricken is for decades the King and Chosen One, he is the tallest of the people of Jamailla, and though all of his kin is gracious he is the most gracious, when he walks trough the forest they say that even ants stop to walk when he passes by. The King or Queen and Chosen one is chosen by symbols that suddenly appear in nature and can never be ignored. The Kin/Queen and Chosen One stays it for life.

sorry bud, those aint Italian, and certinally aint latin ;)

@Cui- I was really surprised- when no one else had taken said spot; it screamed to me as being a good one; though that central islant was attractive to me, I didnt want to be an Altantis ripp-off ;)

but the area in general (that is ranging from my start over to yours) seems to be good one to start in; close to just about everything needed (and now, other civlization to trade with to boot ;)) to get off to a good start

Erm... long-time CFC lurker and complete newb to NESes (didn't even know what they were until about 3 days ago :crazyeye: ), wondering if possibly I could join :mischief: ?

Short Background: Formed for mutual protection at the delta of the Tiar river, Liviia tries to be at peace with the spirits they percieve to be all around them. They are ruled by a council of eldery men and women who elect a new member when neccessary and serve until death.

Each member of the Livii tribes is part of on of seven clans, who are watched over by a different totem - Fox, Wolf, Deer, Oak, Fish, Squirrel, and Bear. Each member of a clan will not harm their totem if at all possible - such would be the equivalent of harming one’s own sibling...

Question: Do we have to send in orders now, do we wait to be recognized first?

If so...

Country Name: Gargari
Government: Tribal Counsel
Ruler: Chief-of-Chiefs Verzo Gargari
Capital City: Gar Versey
Religion: Paganism
Economy: Okay
Income: +1 (100% Land Taxes)
Men Available: 5,000
Army: 2000 Swords, 1000 Archers
Navy: 10 galleys
Culture: 1
Infrastructure:
Approval Rating: 50%
Resources: None
Major Wonders:
Short Background:

Of all the tribes and clans of the Kuran Mountain range the Gargares have been near or at the top of the heap since time immemorial, with some of the most fertile valleys being under the command of members of the Gargari blood line. With this dominance over the lesser clans, the blades a Gargari chief feared most were those wielded by members of his own family! After a few more…dramatic occurrences of fratricide the various Gargari tribes decided to install someone who would be a chief-of-chiefs as if it were, to instil some order and end the bloodshed. Unfortunately this attempt at a tribal hegemony was enough to cause the other tribes of rise up and expel their rightful superiors from their own ancestral lands! Outnumbered, the Chief-of-chiefs lead his many kin eastward along the Alazan River. Arriving at the plains by the rivers mouth the flight eastward was obviously curtailed, and the Chief decided to remain and settle on the spot, founding a new town, much larger than any left behind in the mountains...

They plit off one expanding east into the Forest and the other North towards the Hills. Eventually Religions (having formed thier own) clashed and a Civil War broke out a lot of the population being invloved. After people came to realise it was worthless to war they joined togather to form one Kingdom (country). Religion was put aside as well and only few followed the past religions. This helped to make a experienced and industrious Kingdom that exists today.

First off - welcome all! These already looks like it will be a good game. Just remember to write! :).

Second - we still have room for tons of new players! Remember, expansion is going to be slow, because it will take many of your resources, money and men, to expand and occupy.

Third - I am going to edit the terrain map as I said before.
