I thought about later eras as well., and yes it probably would be needed. If there was a way to do a sub-era tag in the xml in would be handy perhaps.

One of changes I would do to the techs is for example to have iron working at the beginning of the iron age so there would be a shift to right on the next era.

Most of the techs would stick in the vicinity of there present location just where dividing eras is what I would be concerned with. Anyway I'll do it sometime, and you can shoot it down or whatever.

I could do the tag but I wouldn't have a clue how you'd want the 'rest of it' worked out.

If you did I doubt it would be 'shot down'. I think under it all we wouldn't mind having the further era divisions - its not the first time its been suggested. More likely its just the overhaul effort the current mod team doesn't want to have to deal with because it gets in the way of current projects. If that effort is taken care of, I don't think we'd have much reason to then say, nah... don't like it like that but rather would probably be quite happy to have the work done!
 
OK, I think I have an idea for the city state era of religions I am working on a replacement for the Egypt Myth religion set which takes idea from the Rapture mod and the City Builder games Pharaoh/Cleopatra and Children of the Nile. More later:mischief:

Ohhhh nice! I'm excited to see what you have cooking there. Also, it would be cool to have a discussion with you about possible changes to the prehistoric due to the eventual addition of nomad start. I believe you are real into that era correct?

Yes but the latter part more than the earlier part - history ends with the apocalypse in Britain in 400AD.

Hahaha okay gotcha. Well later tonight when I get home I'll post some ideas I've been thinking about in the nomad start thread. It's just too much work to type it out on my phone. I'm very interested in hearing your ideas you have mentioned about the different religion systems!
 
if you look at Johny Smith's "Rapture" mod and Sevo's "Faces of God" mod you realise that treating all religions through out history the same just does not work. I am not saying I have a solution but I may have a working in between solution. It will mean a change to what the "Choose Religions" and "Limited Religions" mean and Leaders will need more than one favorite religion.

The basic idea will be that you have a religion for the religious era you are in and that religion may morph as your religious era advances. Sevo's mod works best for religions which international in scope so it would only apply to those later religions.

Pharaoh is a great game. I love how the flood plains work.

Let me know if you need any coding assistance on this. I sorted out all the religious options so should be your resource for working things out further there. It just needs to be very clearly planned out what needs to be adjusted is all.
