Jumpmasters 1C: We are a backward people! (C3C/Emperor/No Research)

Oh wow, I was supposed to play after ThERat, wasn't I? When eldar posted, I somehow thought he was going to take it next, and then this slipped off the radar.

1942 AD (1) - A dove has entered office. Most military builds go to Commercial Docks, Offshore Platforms, or Wealth. Some more productive places go to tactical nukes, but that is misleading as those will be switched to SS parts as they become available. Make peace with Babylon. Gift all known techs to anyone lacking them.

1948 AD (4) - Steal the Laser from Babylon. They are researching Robotics now. Gift The Laser to all.

1950 AD (5) - Finish SS planetary lounge.

1952 AD (6) - Steal Satellites from Byzantines. They are researching Robotics too, unfortunately. Hold off on gifting for now.

1955 AD (10) - Gift Satellites once I realize that the Sumerians do not have Aluminum.

1960 AD (15) - Steal Robotics from Sumeria. Gift it to all. Sumeria is not researching Superconductor.

Don't go to war! Most stuff is on wealth, because it allows me to be lazy. I don't see any reason to change it. With any luck, the next turnset will be the last. Only one tech to spaceship.

I just realized I forgot to switch ICBM prebuilds to the SS parts that Robotics allows. So next player ought to do that.

No problem. I have been in this game for over seven months. Only romeo and I have stuck it out. Since the mass drop off somewhere in November I think, there have been many times that the game has been forgotten or put off.

Didn't get in any wars. Started Mass Transit and recycling centers cause I got tired of cleaning up pollution. We have mega ICBM force if anyone wants to cause trouble. The stupid AI researched Recycling rather than superconductor. I stole it and gifted it to all. We've got this won if we can get the AI to research superconductor.

For reference JumpMasters 1A finished off our game on Sept 7th 2004. Although to be truthful we did not take on the insame variant of no research space and we did have the GOTM version of the Mongols :D I give you and romeo all of the credit in the world for sticking this one out!

Right, how much gold?! I figure the point of the wars is to bomb/destroy any units that come too close, but not to invade. Hence the stacks of Arty/Bombers sitting by the Babylonian coast.

Post-play:
SS victory in 1977. Babylon got Superconductor in 1975, safe steal failed; steal was successful in 1976. Found two pre-builds to switch, end of game.

Final save attached; I guess for a slightly better score, renew the Ivory deal I forgot to renew.

Pre-win save

Neil.

congratulation for those who really played a lot, I took 1 turn only, won't consider that as my win as well then. :)

I would count it as a win ThERat. The Good Book has the parable of the vineyard workers. The same wage is payed to those that worked all day, as to those that worked 1 hour.
I think this game served its purpose. I got to play with Scout and Sens, before RL took over for them. Bed_Head7 is now a deity level player, (Me Too. :crazyeye: )
Many thanks to everyone that played any turns.
Special thanks to AK for jumping in and volunteering and recruiting more folks.
I think after this game and AK's revenge of the nerds I am giving up on No research games.

I do have to say that by doing no research somehow you tend to amass a lot of money, it works actually far better than expected. of course, aiming for space with no research is a little over the top. :D

For awhile I was fascinated with no research cause I knew my trading skills were not the best to put it kindly. After doing some variants and getting in 2 jumpmasters, I'm comfortable with trading and never want to do no research (or fuedalism) again. The MM gets tedious no matter what VC one goes for. having said that, I'd like to thank romeo and bedhead for accepting an idiot into their game. If everyone hasn't done it already, launch the nukes and try a conquest VC from the prior save.
