Junkers Ju-87

Nice work Dutchking!

I think Wolfshanze was talking about this one:

It was one of my first models, but I've since completely re-done the whole thing. It's currently only found in Modern Warfare and WW2 1939 mod.

As for having multiple people creating the same unit, who cares? I think all of us are guilty of making things we want to make - ultimately because we enjoy it. If someone has fun making something, it shouldn't matter that it's already been done before. It's definitely not a waste.

I'm just sayin'... let's work on things we don't already have... even if it's a new model of the same aircraft!

Never! If someone REALLY wants a different unit, then they should be encouraged to make it themselves. Unit makers should focus on what THEY want to make, not what anyone requests. As far as I'm concerned, the makers wishes come first - they're the ones spending their free time on it.

Interesting... did Snafusmith ever get it animated? More to the point, is the one in WW2 1939 (which I have) animated? Been a long time since I played, so I don't remember.

And I concur with Wolfshanze. Make units we don't have already! Use that list I gave you as a reference. :D

All units in 1939 are animated. :)

Very nice unit dutchking :goodjob:

I agree with snafusmith. I'm thinking twice before making unit that someone else did (mostly because there's so many units need to be done) - but it's ok when someone else makes unit that i already did. The same goes when i make unit that someone else did - making unit is fun (not always) when blueprints and reference pictures "talks" (and i always choose fun in first place - it's probably why i focused lately on making air units - and dropped making tanks).

It's also ok when someone reskin my model or edit it - you can make it better - feel free to edit unit :)

Dutchking has been accidentally banned, but he asked me to tell you that he "forgot to resize the Gloss.dds."

Jeeez, one day you wake up and forget to resize a texture and you get banned. This is a mean world indeed! :D

Nice unit BTW.

once again, it looks just like it. Under-rated plane that the designers of the Corsair ripped-off for the wing design.

More people should listen to you snafu! :) Although when I can't think of anything I need I'll take other peoples requests. Or I'll do requests as a favour to a friend.

Nice unit btw DK... one minor annoyance, the swastika on one side of the tail is mirrored! You should be able to fix it with the UV map if you can be bothered though, it's not really noticeable. :)

I agree, just wish I was as firm as you. :p
Nice aeroplane btw.

Err...don't we want it on both sides? :dunno:

Of course we want it on both sides, what he meant is that it is flipped around vertically (i.e. as if you see it in a mirror) as you have one svastika in the texture only and use that texture for both sides of the wing.

If the plane flies to the left, the svastika is correct, if the plane flies to the right, the svastika is flipped. That is common in many units, I've seen it with numbers and logos etc.

Well with a symbol such as the swastika (which I am personally not too fond of) I think it fits the bill. Same with the little "B" on the side. Ain't too noticeable is it? :p

I don't think flipped swastika is worthy of bigger texture or extra mesh :)

It doesn't need a bigger texture or extra mesh, just before export you can use blender to flip the uvw on that side, just the area around the swastika. But as I said, it's not too noticable.

...
What's with the suspicions? I spent 5-7 hours on the damn thing. 2 on the model, and 3 on the texture. Took a few hours in between to figure out the shader problem. Don't insult my integrity Gaius...

Lol, land units are more satisfying to make (well to me anyways). :D But then if I did make an aircraft the quality wouldn't be that great. Well, it might be ok, I can model... just not very good at making textures from scratch (although I've been getting better lately with the new textures I've been making).

Nobody's insulting your integrity; don't be so defensive. :p

I've made little airplane models with my dad ever since I was little, so I enjoy making them in civ! :p
Tanks just aren't as elegant to me, main reason why I'm not too interested in making them. They are machines made to viciously kill people, not that military planes aren't, but there is a difference to me. :scan:
