Just an outside thought... Nukes in FFH?

While Meteor Swarm is almost more effective than BTS nukes in the end ( no global warming, no fallout to clean up, doesnt smash buildings in the cities you hit with it, practical to use both in field and for siege... meteors are an all in wonder type spell) I miss the nuke graphics.

I was wondering, might there be some legit way to get that big, apocalyptic fireball back into the game in some lore appropriate way?

Maybe an activatable attack from the Tower of Elements?

Maybe something tied to armageddon? ( meaning i'll never see it, feh.. AC needs to go up faster.. not be at 20 after 12 hours..)

Change the color from oranges to blues and it's a mana cataclysm. Fun new spell graphic?

Ideas?
 
Perhaps a blue version could be used on Letum Frigus to signify the reincarnation of Mulcarn or something similar for Ice. Doesn't get more apocalyptic than the reincarnation of the god that caused an Ice Age the last time he was alive...
 
...except for the reincarnation of Hyborem, who is bringing the actual Apocalypse. ;)

I don't think it should be included if the effect is even only slightly "technical" (I don't know exactly how it looks like).
 
Dunno, I would fear alot more from a God than from a "lowly" Archangel....

But I agree, if it is to be implemented it should be some sort of devastating effect, not only there for shows.
 
I think it`s a good idea, it would add a new dimension to the end game tech race, which can often be quite flat. You could imagine a smaller Civ (which would have zero chance of winning the game in the normal way) obtaining the technology through subterfuge or allegiance, and causing some welcome havoc in a game that might have just ended with a single Civ or alliance sweeping the world with its dominance. Would need a new resource that would have to be very rare, and thus only available through trade or proximity (of course this resource would only be revealed when the requisite tech had been discovered).
 
I really don't like the idea of a nuke(I didn't like them in vanilla either), but if there were some sort of nuke in FFH it should cause some severe armageddon-related effect.
 
I think nukes (or anything else) doesn't need to be included just for the sake of being included. Likewise someone might request Tank or Bomber as a Luchirup unique unit. If you want to see nuke effect, mod nuke in.
 
You know, *for once* I actally like one of your ideas cuteunit. I think some sort of ain of fire using something similiar to the nuke graphics would be good when the AC goes up, randomly striking across the map. Would make an awesome AC event.
 
3 kill spells summoned by the tower of mastery, assuming the tower victory is disabled

divination
Ragnarok-gives caster +3 vision and converts religious units with 3 tiles
into top tier angels and demons
(nearby angels, demons, will all be promoted to top tier)

domination
mastery-you control the effected city and all units in it, with no save
(magic units can resist, and may cast escape)

elemental
destruction- improvements and all enemy units in a 9X9 grid are destroyed cities loose non-wonder buildings and 50% of pop
(units with elemental can resist)
 
The nuke graphics could be used when mana nodes are destroyed. They could be changed to a blue explosion. The Amurite world spell would be a lot more dramatic if all the mana nodes blew up rather than just disappearing.
 
Nice idea but isnt it a bit "Armageddonish" for the Amurites? Should perhaps fit better in conjunction with World Break. Remember you can use the actual graphics without having it kill every unit in sight :)
