Yea, it's always important to reformat prior to reinstalling a new OS...

I did not...format.... I don't even know the first thing when it comes to formatting...is it too late now?

No. Re-run the reinstall, and when it asks you, make sure you do a destructive reinstallation. There are two ways to reinstall, destructive and non-destructive. Sounds to me like you did the non the first time, and that's part of the problem. The destructive will reformat your hard drive before reinstalling. Don't forget to backup....

My friend (Berdon) just came over and formatted the comp for me. Now I have a new annoyance: the scroll is rather choppy in IE. Any way to fix this? I've already tried the option in the Tool Options.

And thanks for the help, everyone. I know how annoying it must be. I'll see if updating the drivers helps.
