Keldath addons

I've just got through the installation of Window$ (you can't imagine how much I hate this OS!). Now installing it's tons of updates and patches :mad:
Then I'll download the mod and play :D

And tomorrow I'll install my favourite Linux :goodjob:

The ONLY reason I'm installing that Microsoft crap is CIV 4 and UFO: Aftermath :D

In the world without Walls and Fences, who needs windows and Gates ? ;)

yeah the install is annoying - sorry for that...it will be fixed after we know its working,
the patchs need to be installed one on the other one - read the first post for furter install notes,
also looking forward for you report!

You got me wrong - I meant the annoying installation of MS Windows, not your Mod :lol:

I didn't download your mod yet - now I'm downloading all the patches for Windows, drivers, codecs :mischief:

If there were not Civ 4 and your mod - I wouldn't bother installing Windows, just save my health by using only Linux :)

@keldath: so far so good the reinstall seems fine im at year 700ad. no problems to report right now. thanks good news at year 1510 ad attcking with stack with cataputs and trebuchuts, no crashes seems fine

i tryed loading the game with your python files, still the game wont load, so iguess its somekind of installation error, glad to know you did another 1-3 patch install,

i love your work, and i hope that we wont have ctds, then ill be able to develop this mod greatly with the help of others,

Patch 2 and Patch 3 for Amra+5UU for Warlords is giving me a corrupt message in WinRAR...

F:\My Documents\Setup\Civ4\patch-2-foramra+5uu.rar: Invalid or corrupt authenticity information


I downloaded it twice and even opened it direct so it used the Temp Internet folder with no luck, Patch 1 is fine...anybody else get this?

And yes I will 'bug' it on the website :)
 
I've just looked at the tech tree :)

Looks VERY interesting, I'm particulary glad to see erlier start, some small changes in navy, the NATO, Archeology and Tourism Tech, some completely new units and a lot of changes. I think not having one modern tech giving as much units as in Vanilla Sevo 5UU is a very good change.

One is for sure - Keldath - you made a really great effort, and this mod is gonna be much better than previous !

Of course it needs A LOT of testing, I'm afraid we can have some problems with balance... But that's the goal of testing - to improve balance and playability (besides noticing CTD :p)

I've got 2 main questions:

1. I've noticed The National Special Force Training Camp in Civilopedia, but didn't notice it in tech tree... Is it unavailable yet ?

2. I see the Dale's CASA option is disabled at the setting screen... Does it cause problems, or can I enable it and play ?
 
@jollyroger the national special force training camp was available to me through a great general.
@ keldath just to give some feedback. im playing as the celtics. no problems or crashes. i like the unit info for combat, but is there away to increase the size of the icon. it was difficult to notice.one item id like to see added is roman roads. miss that wonder. also miss the plot list enhancement. i understand that you will be adding to the mod. its the best mod that has the correct combat, imho, for warlords.:goodjob: :goodjob:

I don't mean the building the Great General can create to increase military production by 25% (which was named Military Academy in Warlords), but the original Keldath NSFTC from his Sevo 5UU mod for Vanilla Civ4, which gave 3 Navy Seals and 3 Marines with very nice promotions and some chance for the units stationed in cities to get free XP.

I think the label "National Special Force Traning Camp" for "Military Academy" is a bug... As I remember, the NSFTC in Sevo 5UU was conneced with City Guard buildings, not added yet to Amra's 5UU.

There is a really BIG number of features not yet added, in the time he had Keldath did his best and I'm sure he won't stop :goodjob:

The main goal of playing amra's 5UU now is to check if there are any CTD's caused by added mods at this level ;)
 
Finally got the mod downloaded and installed just before going to work this morning (rubbish Internet connenction). Had a bit of trouble with the installer but did manual extract and patch but it loaded up fine. Only just manage to generate a new map before leaving work ( used the shuffle option - anyone used smartmap yet on this?) and it seems ok. Absolutely loved the choice of music on the front screen - took me a few minute to recognise it as the Conan theme music :) - really fits the mod

yeah i got the same error, mrgenie made the patches, but even though it seem to work....

we will release a patch every few days,

vurrently - the patches doesnt work with the unit statistics, not to worry mrgenie is on it!

i miss those cool stuff from girs mod too! im affraid it would be difficult to add his stuff, so maybe if you guys erge him to modfy his addon so it can be added to this mod......
so i ask you guys to post reqausts in his thread, the more reqausts he will get...... anyhow, ill do my best to implement his mod anyway, thou it wont be easy.

bout the icons, i do not know how to change it, try asking the creatprs of the speciphic mod.

so yeah, i didnt like that all the units are given in the same tech, so i devided them around,
the early tech are from amra mod i added two modern ones.

and indeed we need a lot of testing! im sure that its not balanced , cause amra added a lot of unit classes, and i decided to leave them in o have a lot of diversity,
but i tryed to fit the strength of each one to each time,
i speciphicley had dilema with the "mobile sam" the "howitzer" and advanced mobile sam" and the bazooka.

so im gonna need every bit of your feedback!

as for dale componants,
i turned the stack attack of, cause its no good under multiplayer game, as far as i know it work fine under single player, but i wanted to make sure so i disabled it, wanted to get feedbacks with this option off, so, now you can turn it on i guess.

I got to 1660 and no CTD :goodjob: There were 2 wars between AI's, but I didn't have a war yet. I'm playing the mod first tim, chieftain difficulty to go through quickly, so I can't say much yet (you know, in chieftain it's very peaceful game :p)

I've noticed some minor things so far:

1. The Military Academy created by Great General is named National Special Force Training Camp.

2. Spelling in Diplomacy text for David: "Be strong and of good courage; fear not or be dismayed; I am David of the [OUR EMPIRE], and I bring peace to those who accept it."

There must be underline between [OUR and EMPIRE] missing in the file ;)

3. Small spelling in Karl XII diplomacy text (first meeting) - some symbol in the same way as Davids bug

4. Some units IMHO still need assigning some resource enabling their production, but we can handle it later while improving tech tree.

5. It is a chieftain difficulty, but it goes to easy even for chieftain. I play Polish Empire, Casimi leader. The main overpower is too much gold - but I'm sure the best way to balance this will be adding some buildings, wich will reduce income by maintaining them.

5. I've got almost ready my plan of first era technologies - I'd love to present it for you, but it's so complex, that I have no idea how - I think I'll try to suggest you gradually portions of technolgies to add and my proposals for their effects. Will it be ok ?

And one final question - which difficulty level should I play (what difficulty level you want to have the mod best balanced) ? I can play warlords or noble and try to balance the techs fo these levels. So which do you like ?


And once more - really GREAT work you made !

2, 3, yap i know some diplomacy text error might occur - i forgot to marge the new civs diplomacy ....it will be fixed.

4,yes you absoulotley currect, with all the new resourses , some units need preq , i added the rubber to some units, but i really wanna rework it.

5. maitanance is somthing that i willl cahnge also, i think i might use sevos modification for that, also addig buildigs as you suggestted.
ibelive i wish it to be the most balanced under noble and prince.

6. yes i would be happy to see what you suggest! feel free to post here ot pm me, maybe here willbe better cause people can give their opinions and add stuff, but basicley yeah, i wouldreally like to put some extra techs on early era :)

I don't understand this error, like every upload, i always download it myself and extract to see if it's done properly...no error here...I can think of some reasons WHY this might happen(local settings windows, basically MS **** causing this) but if so, i have no idea how to fix that...except screwing my local settings :)
but 1 thing you should try, download with Opera! since I'm using this browser and gives me no error..maybe IExplorer is somehow nested with local settings causing corrupted downloads or so...basically, i have no idea why you get a corrupted file..so, try opera :)

I used Winrar 3.50 Beta...any older winrar might be a reason for corrupted message

well if you wont go opnline until im off to work, wanted you to now that using your three patches didnt solevd my unit statistics problem, the partisans works fine, but the error is the, so if you fixed this, then plz, comprees you entire python folder and patch it tp me on pm or email.

as far as I looked into the files it's a GIR addon, which is beeing build by a general, not related to the city guard building..but i could be wrong..seeing so much codes lately :)

ehm, really? looks fine on my end..where do you get the error or what is wrong with them? haven't played a game yet so i couldnt check it out..but on a new game the screen just acts as normal
