Perhaps another title could be better ... let them read the intent of the letter in the body of the message and not the title.

If the whole declaration was posted, I would kind of feel like the whole war was being rubbed in KISS's faces. We hit them HARD and I don't think we should rub that in.

I'm not sure about that... in order for KISS to show up with Theory of Gravity and Magnetism this turn, Dnuts would have had to give them both with accept on Dnuts turn 167 - before MIA declared war. Maybe KISS is stealing (and got very lucky to get 2 techs last turn considering they didn't have enough cash to steal safely).

Given how things are going/went this turn – maybe it's time to send a letter to KISS?

Here's a draft to get conversation started…

Dear KISS,

We know we're the last people you probably want to hear from right now – so we'll keep this brief.

Our territorial ambitions end with the waters of the Green continent. We know you to be honorable and decent (if frequently drunk) people. We wish to offer you a peace treaty – and a chance for you to start a new life over on the Battle Island.

No further terms. Just a peace deal, gentlemen-to-gentlemen.

What do you say?

Remember – I'm going off the basis that we'd really rather have KISS survive, to help make techs more expensive for the Dnuts in following us. In that respect, it's better for us to leave a crippled KISS alive and "helping" the Dnuts… rather than dying and REALLY helping the Dnuts by making all the techs we research even easier for Dnuts to get in our footsteps.

Man, you work fast!! I might wait to send that though. Right now it is possible that Dnuts will funnel gold to KISS to help them rush units. That is by far the best result for us.

Yes ... I sent the Nut letter when I saw things were going well ... didn't expect this well.

Actually I favour sending this now ... which will give them a chance to negotiate gold from Nuts

As I sign of goodwill, we have not mentioned anything to the Nuts just incase you can get some gold from them to aid your homeland defence. It would be fitting after they gutted Dancing Banana before handing it over to you.

I still wouldn't send it just yet. Our Grand Strategy is still not firm - maybe we want to take KISS' towns as a base to attack Nuts? I don't think so, but I also don't see any urgency to send this letter. KISS can't hurt us, so let them build more military before we sue for peace. I really don't think KISS will send troops back to our continent - they must realize it would be a suicide mission. I think whatever troops they have left will defend Battle Isle.

I think it would be nice to hold part of KISS's land on the battle isle... We can let them keep some cities, so techs dont get cheap from donuts, but if we dont make a base now, we are suspetible to an all out assault when we land troops

Two things:

@fe: why include that last paragraph?! Doesn't seem to further MIA's goals, but it does tip our hand in showing that we want to draw down DNUT's resources

@General_W and Chamnix: Could one of you explain more completely exactly why keeping KISS alive will keep tech costs more for DNUTs than killing KISS? Clearly, the reduction (in fractional cost) must outweigh the beakers that KISS is able to contribute through tech trading. Seems like that wouldn't be the case, but I don't know the details of tech cost reductions for 3 vs. 2 civs here.

I'm thinking more that KISS could drain some of the Nutter's treasury ... as they may think that funding KISS is in their best interest ... this will not work once Nuts know how vulnerable KISS is now. Infact I think that they may attack KISS which would be good because obviously most of KISS military is still stationed on Battle Isle.
