KK-06 -- The Special One

Ok I decided to go to war with America. We had them hemed in on the eastern side but they were free to expand from Atlantam, when they settled a city beside New York I thought that that was enough and razed it. I also took Atlanta, loosing only 1 unit to 7, I kept but looking back I should have razed it. I made Washington a production city and I think it will be great it has loads of hills and when American culture is gone ( if it exists ), It'll have two food resources. I got construction for cats and set us on the way to optics, I also sent a tireme exploring for the sake of it. Our economy has take a hit from the war but with cats it won't take long. I got a GG and settled him in Medinna.

I played 21 turns as I felt I would not get any of my plans done in the next 9 turns so someone else can try their hand at it.

Hmmm. Pat, the save ain't there.

And one rule with SG's, never post your report over your got-it message as those who read your got it don't get another notification to say there is a new message.

What are we doing with tech? Are we bee-lining towards Optics?

Thanks for the save pat4.

Roster: (turnsets should be 10-15 from now on)
- Kikinit -- Took Roosey's holy city and completely sent our economy down the drain!
- Robo Kai -- Rescued the economy by taking Washington
- glenmetz -- Re-building for war
- pat4 -- Started the 2nd American War
- Xyqtt -- Up
- omglazers -- on deck

Pat de-toured to Construction, I think we should've done that earlier for an easier war instead of rushin' Optics.

Of course rushin' Optics was my idea, so...
:hammer2:

Let's add more labels to cities :D

got it, will try play tonight otherwise tommorow morning

Will prob be building cats and beeling optics, any other thing that has to be done?

Since we've not heard from Xyqtt for 2 or 3 days, we'll have to skip him until we hear from him again.

omglazers, do you want to pick it up?

Picking it up. Will be playing Monday or Tuesday night due to a pair of exams I have. Will get it done ASAP

sory gusy gt some mayor internet problems at home. Hopefully it get fixed soon. Just skip me till you here more form me. But I hoep it will be before my next turnset. Sorry again guys

Xyqtt

Sadly, due to exams, Im being forced to push it back AGAIN. This is totally unexpected, so, i'm being forced to skip as well.

I'm ashamed, but you guys threw me for a loop. I was planning to be playing tomorrow when my exams are over but you caught me right in the middle of them.

Skip so we can get this moving :(

I started my turns by declaring peace with Roosy. We can't afford to take any more cities and need to get some commerce and research going.

I took a deal for some techs. We can declare again later when we can support more cities.

I researched us all the way to optics. I optimised the cities for commerce to try and support a 10% research rate. Now that we have optics we need to build a few caravels, find the AI and open borders with them to get the trade routes happening. Or do they only work with Astronomy? Just checked and yes we'd need Astronomy for ocean trade. Well at least we can do some trades (hopefully).

The wars have hurt us in tech that's for sure. Here's our state against the rest. Wonder if it's possible to dig it out of this hole?

In 1100AD we got a great scientist. With our research rate quite low and all the specialists running in Mecca producing beakers I did an academy in the capital.

We need to work out a way to get the ecomony a bit better. I chose Currency next as it will allow us to build wealth if we so desire. I was also hoping that we'd be able to take advantage of the extra trade routes but we can't yet.

Roster: (turnsets should be 10-15 from now on)
- Kikinit -- Just Played
- Robo Kai -- Up
- glenmetz -- On-Deck
- pat4
- Xyqtt
- omglazers

Sorry guys, I will have to ask for a skip. As stated in the MLG7 thread I'm rather busy (but I can post... at work).

Also I don't think peace is the solution. If we are winning the war and can't keep cities, we should be razing.

We don't have Currency and it's already past 1000AD? And another player said: "I consider this game a loss if I don't have Macemen by 1000AD". I think we should abandon this game and try again.

Robo Kai. Interest is just about dead and you are right that we are miles behind. I too don't mind if we throw in the towel in this one.

If you are throwing in the towel, then I'll post my quick shadow report :)
SPOILERS. (If you do continue, then don't read this!)

Spoiler :
Settled 2nd city at two gems + iron spot. Started making an army against Americans. They had like 7 cities when I had 2 and declared. Got two cities on the way to Washington and finally captured the capitol, all this in about 10 turns or so. Made peace, economy crippled but Washington had Pyramids so I decided to put up a specialist economy. It worked well, but then Washington declared on me again. I defended all the cities and razed some of his, ended in peace. After maces I invaded rest of his land. Got the whole continent now. But I'm ALOT behind the other civs, only thing that's worse than over-sea warfare is over-sea warfare with backward techs

I was interested to see will you end up as backwards civ like me, looks like our games were very much alike.
