Knights of Honor

yep. its real fun. I just hac=ve 2 armies with all the units highlanders. Some of the greatest marshall skills are Dread, lowers enemy morale wich helps alot especially when their whole entire army surrenders, Enforcer, more loot from villages, siege mastery(or whatrever its called) for less atrition, the one that increases marching speed. If your armies is more powerful than his( which they should be) morale boosting skills arent really worth if they're pretty equal they become more valuable, and if you are less powerful, well you'll probably lose anyway.
Always get your trade agreements, pacts of nonagression, and aliances early in the game when its easier.
I usually have 6 traders, 1 builder(usually my king) and 2 marshalls(1 is my prince) and it works out pretty good. If i need another army I fire a merchant and hire another marshal. I dont think Ive wever need more than 3 marshalls.
Always get an inn in every city and try to get a hostell. It helps with hapiness and increases production.

I believe it only lets you get up to 6 provinces. After you secure a 7th, the demo is over.

Hmm. It's nice to know that. Also, how do you get another territory (province) to become your vassal. @ Someone above who said Germany was their vassal, I know that's not from the demo (I'm pretty sure) because when you start out in Scotland or Bohemia you only have 2 provinces while FGermany has like 10. I was amazed that my kingdom power dropped 3 points when I broke off from being a vassal of Germany!!

Surprisingly, it happenbed. They had fought a lot of previous wars, and were smaller. I captured Hesse, and demanded them to be my vassal. They accepted.

I got Ireland to be my vassal in the demo. You have to beat them up well. :p

Man, the more I read your guys previews, the better it gets!! They is going to an awesome game...

In the demo, do you get all the units?? Plus, i read something like a zoom feature..or not a zoom feature...hmm I forgot...how do you zoom into cities to see the beautiful castles on the screenshots??

Don't know about close ups on castles...

For conquering you could take a province or two and demand them to be a vassal. Then give back their provinces (you don't have to deal with rebels, you don't have to build up the province(s), you still get money from it/them, you don't have to conquer all their territory, and your game does not end from conquering).

Ireland, England, Wales, Denmark, Norway, and someone else (don't remember who) all gave me nice stacks of gold for putting the hurt on them.

No Spearmen, not much cavalry. But you can still get swordsmen, light cavalry, peasants, etc. However, it is possible to find mercenary camps and hire heavy cavalry, special swordsmen (I.e Saracens) or even Spearmen

Yea I was about to say that. Sometimes in your province you might not have a swordsmith or whatever but at mercecary camps you get units at great bargain. Here's why:
1. They are yours to buy at regular price for no exception (unless of course you don't have room)
2. You don't need any buildings required for them because they are already alive.
3. You don't have to pay food for them like when your marshal is in your castle and you have to pay those expensive food amounts (like 50 wheat for an archer!!!)
So just bring your marshal up to it and it'll say Hire men! Then click on em to do it.

Also, I just finished my game (very sadly!) but it wasn't from provinces. IF YOU'RE WONDERING HOW THE DEMO ENDS MINE DID BECAUSE MY KING DIED AND THEN THE HEIR DIED AS WELL. It sounds short but they take a long time.

Also I was surprised because my first Duke had 1 boy, and that boy, (whom was married) had 3 boys and 3 girls!!!!

Dang this game is gonna be great when it comes out (for saving, clerics, spies, and being able to control the 100+ countries not just two...

To anwser TrukingPete's question you can only look into your cities and castsles during batlle and you cant do that in the demo.
and cant wait to use clerics to remove nostalgia.

I'm having trouble playing it. I'm going to reboot my computr or something

Yea Lord Draegon you can go into battle mode...
When your army encounters another outside a town and when neither is camped or garrisoned it'll pop up saying Fight, Enter battle, or retreat. Obviously, retreat is retreat. Fight means the AI battles it out, basically army vs army with no advantages or disadvantages this way. Enter Battle means you zoom in and control your forces. IMO this takes way too long so I never do it.

Also, if anyone likes the Knights of Honor music go here and under the Download section at the top click music. Once there, the entire soundtrack is at your fingertips. I put it onto a CD for myself, but if anyone likes the main theme song when you first enter the demo of KoH I can'y find that on the list. Maybe because it's kinda short...

I just finished a game. Germany was my vassal, but got destroyed.

My last game I was Bohemia. The prince of Bohemia was married to the princess of Sicily (2nd most powerful, no heir, and only 5 points behind Bohemia at the end). Germany (10th I believe) and Poland (not powerful at all) were my vassals. I just went to war with the Latins, due to an alliance (who seemed to gobble up Hungary) just before the game ended. I believe France was 3rd most powerful. I was allied with them as well. England was grateful to me, because they were Germany's vassal before I made Germany my vassal.

Too bad I don't have a screen shot.

How did you become most powerful??

The last game I played, I was most hated. I was at war with nearly everyone in western Europe except Sweden and Norway.

I honestly don't know. My units were mostly light cavalry and swordsman (which means higher military power than counties with peasant armies so that may have helped), and I had alot of merhcant knights plus two vassals. There also was not an AI with alot of power. In other games, there seemed to be at least two dominant powers, and that was not the case in that game. My kingdom power was at 5. All the unit garrison places (on the left side as the right side is the Marhsal's troops) were filled with swordsman, cavalry, or whatever. My decent military was the biggest difference between this game and previous ones, where I would use swordsman and peasants, but not so much cavalry.
