Know any good indie or shareware adventure games?

Mostly interested in plot-driven horror adventure games, with as few action parts as possible (lazy even in the world of the game ;) ).

Apparently there is now a sizeable market for such games, and there are even free (or usually free) programs to allow anyone to make his own game. Ie in the future i may try just that :mischief:

Pic is from DarkSeed, an old adventure (not indie or shareware; Giger even worked on it!)

Is there a reason to play them instead of just watching a play-through, lazy as one is..?

I enjoyed Wolf among us, not really a horror or indie title, and it has a few action sequences. Still worth a play through imo.

This might be something. Not the greatest lets play, but it's watchable.

Pretty much all point-and-click games are "indie" these days, but I like me some historical action in my games. Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern is my favourite, but I also really enjoyed Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny and Egypt III: The Fate of Ramses.

If you don't like pixel-art games, you'll probably hate the Blackwell series (Legacy, Unbound, Convergence, Deception & Epiphany), but they're pretty decent, nonetheless.

TBH, those both look rather bad to me :o

I dislike digitised gfx, and also anime-like drawings...

I played The White Chamber some years ago and from what I remember its short game for 1-2 afternoons, worthy for time.

In similiar style as Mudlarks was made excellent Gabriel Knight 2. Animations horrible but atmosphere great.

I know that you are looking more for recent indie games, but from old ones Gabriel Knight trilogy is just awesome. If you havent played, I have no mouth and I must scream or Sanitorium are also great horror/adventure old games.

That's not a point-and-click game though, which is what I think Kyriakos was after.
