Korean 3d City set

Any comments? Or should I consider this complete?

Four eras. Although I'm not entirely sure what I want to do for the industrial graphics...

Looking at the Joseon Dynasty set, and comparing it to the set with the pagoda, i thought that having so many buildings possibly is a bad idea.
I really love the shape of the Shilla kingdom set. Also, something i do with my sets, is keep the shapes more or less set (although some buildings take more space than others, those are always just the landmark ones), so i am used to such uniformity :)

I was thinking about that, but there are too few buildings in the set (that's supposed to represent city size 3! :crazyeye: ). I added some extra buildings to the Shilla set so the layout shapes of both are roughly similar.

With Varwnos venturing into East Asian city graphics, I suppose my old works are already obselete. ;)

Anyways, I do this for my own enjoyment. Perhaps when I learn 3ds Max (once I get off my lazy behind, of course! ;) ), I'll take all this a step further. :)

your old stuff is never obselete, they are reminscient of civ3 city graphics and therefore keeping more to what I find enjoyable to look at in civ3 city graphics...

A preview of city walls for the Joseon Dynasty. It's not finished yet, of course. Should I keep the four gates or should I just have one front gate?

I use your old work. :p

I think these cities look great, but I never fancied having cities that include buildings who are also part of the mod, so I'll probably not use them. :undecide:

Do you still need fortress graphics? I just suddenly had an idea for fortress graphics. :)

Imo one gate would look better ;)
And i would also avoid gaps in the wall.

I said the walls weren't finished yet. :p

And here was me thinking that the asians weren't very good at building walls.
:mischief:

How's this?

Beautifull. You think i can use them as standard city set for asians cultures in my mod ? There is China, Japan, Khmer empire and Mongols.

I suppose you could use them for East Asian cultures. It would be odd to have Khmers using Korean architecture, however. But then again, Firaxis lumped India into the "Far East" culture group, which was just absurd.

Anyways, a city size 2 preview. The centerpiece morphs as the city grows. In size 1, it is a yangban (noble) house. In size 2, it becomes a palace hall. And in size 3, it becomes a bigger palace hall. I'll do a similar thing with the Shilla era; size 1 has a small pagoda, then size 2 has dabotap pagoda, and then size 3 gets the Cheonnyongsa pagoda.

Man, this thread (and its content) is developing quite amazingly!

I personally like the look of the four gate wall, but that's just me. Other than that, I don't think the walls need to be addressed any further since they look incredible.

And to all the city sets so far...dayumn, they look good! :goodjob:
