KotOR Mafia - game thread

If it would help folks who are on the fence decide:

Right now, WITHOUT SPENDING A SINGLE CREDIT, there are 10 people who are willing to OPENLY VOTE AGAINST THE JEDI.

[my 3 votes, and the known bounty hunter/neutrals claimed]

That's without bribing people. Which, I can do, and make someone switch involuntarily.

I can make those votes happen, today, to show you that you no longer have anything to fear from the Jedi.

That means I only need *ONE* more vote supporter, and the lynch is REMOVED as an option from the Jedi, permanently. There are unknown neutrals and unknown Sith out there. One of you side with me, and I'll ensure none of you ever get lynched ever again.

Lynch me/fail and we'll win by attrition due to murder anyway next round.

Neutrals, scumbags, you've got this game wrapped. It happened that fast.

See why Mergy is right at the top of the list? He's no sith, he's no neutral.

He's one of those "EVERYONE DO AS I SAY OR YOU WILL DIE" Jedi scum.

They're the real scumbags of this game. The majority of the players are neutrals, gangsters, imperials, and outright Sith.

The good news is they're not powerful or clever enough to catch us, and their threats against the neutrals, in particular, are garbage. How will they kill any sith directing lynches at bounty hunters, their bounty makers, Hutts, or other assorted undecideds, of which there are actually some, which is pretty nifty might I add.

Extend the Jedi the big middle finger today. I'd say "don't let them kill me" but they can't anyway. Sorta kills my Palpatine motif.

Those non-sith voting to let pizza off the hook, please be aware that the rest of the game will be a tedious procession if you let him live now. He's pulled precisely this stunt on more than one occasion in the past, and the results are exceptionally dull. There will be no debate or discussion, and you will have no influence whatsoever on the course of events. All you're going to get are orders, demands, and empty promises. And a whole lot of pizza lording it over everybody.

Don't think for a second that he really means to help you to achieve your goals - he's been promising me that for several rounds now, but nothing ever came of it (not that I ever expected it to). Indeed, it's only now that I've gone against him in public that he's started offering me some real assistance - that's right, at exactly the same time as he's promising his credits to you guys in public, he's telling me in private that he still intends to use them to help me. Just how many credits do you think he's supposed to have? Over the time since he revealed to me, claiming immense wealth, I've seen no evidence that he's got more than a couple of credits to rub together. All he wants you to do is stand there and be cannon fodder for him, making yourselves targets for the town and the other scum team as they try to figure out which of you are these two remaining teammates he claims to have.

And even if one or two of you do manage to sneak a win by sucking up to him, what credit do you think you'll get for it? Here's your answer: none. All glory will be his, and your own success will be down to nothing more than luck and sheeplike cowardice.

And, of course, that assumes that you can actually win with him. Given how powerful he's claiming to be (a scum team of five players and a ton of powers in a 40-player game where half of the non-scum are neutral?), if he's telling the truth then I reckon there's a very strong chance that his goal is to wipe out everyone else including us neutrals.

So, either he's lying about how powerful he is, or he actually means to kill you. Whichever is the case, it's pure foolishness to think that helping him out is any kind of a safe bet.

And of course, being cowed by a nigh-unstoppable clan of endless scanners, blockers, and masons and being threatened to cooperate with them is any better.

Funny thing is, I'm the one fighting to make this still a game in any sense. You're on the wrong side of this one, WH.

Vote: ATPG and FoS: Jarrema, as both of them are acting suspiciously. I believe Winston Hughes to be truthful, and at one point not so long ago, ATPG said he was going to ragequit or something like that, then out of nowhere this turn, he starts claiming he has all of this power? Something tells me that what he is saying is complete BS.
I am also suspicious of Jarrema, who claims to be working with Jedi, but where is the proof? And if he is working with Jedi, how do we know that some of them won't have cover roles, and actually be Sith?

There are no safe bets. Otherwise, they wouldn't be real bets.
On the other hand, I would have sold Pizza many turns before, if I had known of his real identity. But now I am divided. I would really appreciate to see some dividends from him in the next phase at latest, but I can live on bounties some more.

In response to WH's specific points about the credits, and not helping him out:

1) Not helping him out.

I handed him credits for nothing, not too long ago. Just to show my good faith. Then my internets got disconnected during the round I could have sent him more.

I also sent credits to help out someone else. True, I'm not made of money. PARDON me for that. I do have more.

2) Winston actually has a way of getting more and more credits to achieve his goal, and we discussed it. I can help him achieve his goal and it ends up, net, costing me nothing.

And I can help others at the same time.

But instead, it's this move, which does nothing and is based out of a misunderstanding of the game setup. And it's fun at the very core of it. Kudos.

Also, I'm selling my vote to the highest bidder.

And, at Sam: DOUBLE FACEPALM.

I take it Sam is utterly disinterested in reading the game. But willing to vote, that's good.

Oh, my excuses to Sam, I misread his post.

But still.

Ten hours into Day Nine and here's your 90-second update:

ATPG: 5 (Choxorn, Winston, Jarrema, Megle, SamSniped)
Verarde: 3 (The Black Knigh, JoanK, ATPG)

I particularly like how I'm acting suspiciously.

Yes, that fellow with the glowing amber eyes, red lightsaber, and fleet of freshly made star destroyers is a shady looking fellow indeed.

That's some right skillful detectiving, old chap.

Hey, as long as you are admitting your suspiciousness, ATPG, I don't have to explain anything :p

My thoughts on Jarrema:

Because I had only one use of my scanning ability
He claimed this on day 2. I think this is believable, if not for following posts:

IF I had more uses of my ability, I would scan people as long as I found someone innocent, and then share all my knowledge with him. I am not that bad player to do such thing if I was a policeman
And yet he claims to be working with many Jedi who he knows are all good, but how does he know they are all light side good Jedi without breaking rules or using his scan ability?

I will add one bit of info: in the description of my ability it is written that it is alignment scan.
Of course, in some games alingnment may mean something different than mafia/town split
This is apparently true, as he scanned me with a second use in my first life here, and found me to be dark side aligned. Now, I'm not sure if I am allowed to say what I just did since it was in my first life, not my second (no comments in the rules about it); but I do know that having the right intel can win a fight, and if I know something, I will usually try and share it. So, what I want to know, is why he is willing to lie to everyone about his ability, and what his actual role is.

Of course, I might be completely wrong about him and he will end up being a light side Jedi with only one scan ability, but I doubt it.

I can only laugh at the skillful mockery of our fellow Sam by our fellow Pizza.
Spoiler :
:lmao:

@ Sam-

Now that sounds more like thinking.

I was about to say, your post where you said you found me "suspicious" and Jarrema in turn, looked an awful lot like Sith Triumvirate wrote it, trying to blend in as townie.

But what you just posted sounds more like you actually are thinking.

Shame, was hoping you were a right honorable scumbag like me. :goodjob:

Also, he could have lied about the number of uses in order to protect himself.

By the way, if you are Sith Triumvirate, you'd better drop the act real quick, because I'm not buying you as being legit right now.

If you don't stand with me, you won't stand a chance. Remember, they can survive kills, have multiple scanners, and won't vote each other. Think about it.
