I would've suggested this for you, but you've already beaten me to it. I remember that during the Turkish Siege of Rhodes, one of these was used and successfully kept the Ottomans out of the harbor. That was the Siege of Rhodes in 1480 by the way, not in 1522.
Very cool guys, great work. I am wondering how easy it might be for someone to whip up a modern equivalent such as those stripped gates that come down in parking garages and parking lots. You know, like the kiosk with the gate that comes down. The death animation could be the gate getting smashed off.
