Kyp's GMR Game (open sign ups)

Actually, Songhai's economic indicators are under effect of GA right now. Songhai is not as powerful as it could be seen from demography screen. :)

We just need some tags for propaganda purposes, unfortunately Songhai is tagged:lol:

I have plenty of wonders yes. Building them in hopes of getting some money/not building anything that gives me maintenance while I try and settle my land/building trade posts.

I almost never build trading posts. Could be a flaw in my game, but it's usually farms instead. The exception would be puppets. I suppose a city specialised for cash generation would make sense, too, though I don't think I've ever done this.

Trade posts for tech reasons, doubled up with jungle they could give 4 beakers each...that makes sense, though it is a distant benefit.

I suppose a city that would be a natural for lots of trade posts would be one which already has a lot of food resources around it, so the extra food from farms is not so necessary.

What do other players do? I've wondered if my neglect of TP is a flaw...

I usually build trade posts when my civ has a happiness problem or I anticipate this problem in near future. In conquest games I usually prefer building trade posts on tiles without fresh water over farms.
In other hotseat game as Persia due to persian strategy correlated with prolonged GAs, I also prefer trade posts over farms.

Yes, the food penalty due to happiness cap makes sense. I remember thinking that farms should be converted to TP at some point later in the game, but in practice I never do this.

Maybe this was asked sometime ago, but what happened to whoever was playing Ottomans? Does it show an AI cause he's on vacation? Or is it another disappearing player (and do we need a sub?)?

Ottoman has been killed by the Persian, crazy old pharaoh.;)

If you send a scout near his legandary land you might find some ancient artefacts.

Kingdom of Songhai has finished construction of Sistine Chapel and Machu Picchu on the same turn.
From this moment Askia is ready to sign RA even with the devil. :deal:

@Banman:
Askia would like to resume our fruitful trade of roman incense for songhai silk.
Songhai are peaceful silkwoovers who will not endanger roman cities.

@RStark: Roman citizens have been pleased to receive Songhai silk, it is of very high quality. We are considering the renewal of this trade -- but many of our subjects on our frontiers are enamored with ivory, so we are first seeking to buy ivory with our incense ...

Sistine? Wasnt it PT?
yes, it was PT. Blame on my bad memory

OK, then people of Songhai will wait for another opportunity of trade with Roman Empire.

We hereby curse the builder of the Porcelain Tower. As we had also built a great tower, only to find it was missing a blessing from the Gods.

Japanese scouts notice Songhai Military presence near sovereign Egyptian town, wonders of its meaning...

Have Japanese also tried to build PT using GE? If yes, then Songhai are lucky to build it one turn earlier than Japan :crazyeye:

Askia is greedy enough to build more scouts so the swordsman was chosen to explore Terra Incognita and hunt for any barbs nearby.

I think it fair to ask everyone's opinion to revert a turn if Japan rushed PT with a GE and failed because of bad luck.
