I feel: Yes!

:)

(Edited: I was having a laugh at the original non-sequitor poll question)

It blows. Me and a friend were really looking forward to plaing Civ III against each other.

I voted no. Civ never was supposed to be a multiplayer. Besides, turnbased games are just boring multiplayer..you sit and wait too long. Be patient Multi-Player fans...it will come out and cost you more money.;)

actually it has been since civ2 (mp code was partially inplemented in the original release allready but made to work later in gold edition to rip more money out of it)

;) everyone has right to their opinions :) I at least like hotseat type of games, and thats the way I play most of my mp games (not that I would not like to play nw or net, just cant affort two comps nor high speed connections to net)

ya, and they'll charge for working scenario editor too as they did with CIV2 :p but I at least wont bother buying till civ3 has mp AND working scenario editor. I hope most mp/scenario fans do/did the same (actually I may even wait till Civ 3 mp gold edition before I buy the game. wont bother paying for half made product)

I have to disagree with 57%, I feel 'no' about there not being multiplayer.

(If that made sense to anyone, please stop claiming you speak English on your resumes. ;) )

my vote made it 50/50. I too would have to say NO for CIV. I have played lots of Multiplayer (Diablo I and II, Starcraft). I have never tryed to play a turn based game on line. Right now it takes days for me to complete a game, how could you do this on line?? that is the part I dont understand, do you save and meet back the next day or what? I love multiplayer (about the only reason I got hooked on Diablo was the on line fun, but then again it was the same reason I left, people can be jerks too!!

My two cents

No, it doesn't have to be. In Alpha Centauri they had simultaneous multiplayer. All players (playing a network game, of course) moved at the same time and then all their moves took place. I played AC like that with a friend - it worked fine, and took less time! Anyway, you can always save - you don't have to play a whole game in one sitting. Just hope there's a save option for the multiplayer version of Civ 3.

I'm actually hoping someone will make a utility that will allow you to play Civ 3 multiplayer like some people did for Civ 2.

i believe in multiplayer in all games, even turn games. the computer moves their guys back and forth, thats why the turns take so long in the game
