Largest stack of enemy units you ever destroyed?

I'm playing a Barbarian Wrath game (which I don't plan on doing again anytime soon...it seems like there's an uprising or landing somewhere every turn and I have to watch them move for five minutes). One of the uprisings was "major". I watched to see which square was spawning them, then brought a bribed caravel up to it and nailed it.

57 units destroyed. Suck it Barbs.

I haven't kept track, but I'm pretty sure I've nailed up to a 97 unit stack, before.

Actually, my favorite strategy (implemented but once,) is to create a small settlement right next to the stack for ready capture by the barbarians. I then bribe back the city, which also brings over all adjacent enemy units (i.e., the entire stack). They are all supported units, and the tender young settlement is hopelessly over-subscribed, but I rush the units inside and disband them: one instant 600-shield wonder! (With several units left over that ended up disbanded for lack of shield support.)

Wow...that's an awesome idea!!!

That gives me another idea. If you already discovered the Corporation, then you can start building Capitalization and disband all 97 units. You might be able to rush-buy two wonders with that.

Not sure that would work. Capitalization only allows you to (a) save already accumulated shields until you want to actually build the wonder, and (b) convert shield production (i.e., not shield accumulation) into gold. You would just end up spending 1200 shields from disbanded units for a single 600-shield wonder, or having the excess units self-disband due to the tremendous support shortage.

A better use, if you have a railroad close by and 2-move units and/or partisans, would be a wave of assaults on the nearest foreign civs.

13-17 obsolete opponents Tremes with a battleship. I had Leonardo's workshop(always build it)and they have those obsoletes everywhere that you pick off. You usually have enough money to buy any wonder late in the game, but that looks like a fun way. I usually play only three civs so I can win. I should try it with more for something new.

And that's what the barracks are for. Just hate how they are constantly obsolete. They create veteran units and prevent more than one being lost per turn, or was that port facility?

Either way, like in chess if you plan to win, be prepared to lose.

Barracks create vet units, but it is fortresses (and airfields) that prevent the loss of more than one unit in an attack.

can you group your units?
Nope. You must move units individually; but you can use "goto" for individual units, or you can "group" them in a ship, and move the ship. But not Grouping like in AoE, Red Alert, etc. :(

My big nukest bomb killed all in a big field with over 20 mine men too so dont hit yuor bomb close to you guys if enemy is close to you, it kill all all! :nuke:

I once destroyed 90+ stack during a game of Nemo's Red Front...I believe several others have perfromed this feat too!
