Last album you got?

Elephant by The White Stripes

when i say metal i don't mean wussie 80's metal. And i don't mean wussie 'nu'-metal(not offense to nu-metal likers).
That's okay. "Nu-Metal" is for wussies anyway ;)

Mark Knopfler--The Ragpicker's Dream

An excellent album. I have all of Dire Straits' CDs and Sailing to Philadelphia by Knopfler.

One question I have though--the title to the first track, "Why-aye Man"--what's a "why-aye man"? Anyone from the north of England know what that is?

edit: Its someone from Newcastle on Tyne in the north east of England. Col

I didnt want to be antagonistic, but i did want to point out that i do not like crap. ;)

I have to agree with De Lorimier, I can listen to rap, I can listen to techno, folk, opera, and even country. But I cannot under any circumstances listen to slipknot and the like.

Rose Tattoo - A Decade of Rock

Some really hardrockin' tunes from these Aussies on this. Highly recommended.

Interesting fact: Guns n' Roses wanted the slide guitarist (Pete Wells?) to join the band after Izzy Stradlin left. He politely declined, and stayed with Rose Tattoo.

I got Epica by Kamelot just yesterday... great music :D

Hmm. . . . been a while. Last album I bought was A Momentary Lapse of Reason. I'm thinking of buying Puddle of Mudd's cd.

Edit: Nope, that's not right. The last album I bought was Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park. how did I forget that?

Last time I bought an album I got a few in one day:

Throwing Muses (eponymous)
Kristin Hersh ~ The Grotto
Evan Dando ~ Baby I'm Bored
Tori Amos ~ To Venus and Back
Girls Against Boys ~ You Can't Fight What You Can't See

David Grisman and Jerry Garcia, Not for Kids Only. I got it for my kids for christmas. I don't really buy much music anymore.

Lee Scratch Perry "Upsetter in Dub vol 1"

The heaviest Dub Reggae cd I've ever heard. Definitely the best Lee Scratch Perry collection I have run across.

It makes me wish it was July and steamy-hot and tropical outside.

To those who don't know Lee Scratch Perry he is a mad genius and legendary music producer from Jamaica. His music was to Reggae what Slayer is to glam metal, it's not evil pop Reggae but rather the real thing. Now that he is old he does Techno (he has got to be at least 60).

"Live at the Jet Studio, Brussels" by Zita Swoon.

"Scarlett's Walk" by Tori Amos. Her best in quite some time.

It was Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus: Rajaportti (A Finnish Metal band)
and before that Iron Maiden: Best of the Beast

Interesting...

I was rather disappointed with it, since to me it lacks the intriguing song structures and clarity of mix that her other albums possess. I find it rather muddy and directionless instead, which I think is a pity given how much I love her previous work :(

I had been disappointed with her albums after "Boy's for Pele" (which I really liked). They got a little too techno, and away from the raw unplugged sound of her earlier work. The new one isn't as good as her first three albums, IMO, but it seems to be taking her back in that direction. There are a few really good songs on it.

[dance] Another convert. :mwaha: Buy their old stuff also!

I went album-shopping today, and came back with this:

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief [See my thread for my opinion]
White Stripes - Self-Titled LP [The White Stripes in all their pre-popular glory...]
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell [Want semi-underground rock? Want an energetic lead singer? Want an overall good time, with some great sounds?]
The Clash - London Calling [I think it should be mandatory for everyone to own this album. 'Nuff said.]]
