I've been thrown full throttle into something I started almost as a gag... haha.

Anywhoo... here's two of the previews (very early in the works obviously).

Ancient Era

Middle Ages

Regular - Industrial

Ok, it's time to see the idea as image.

1) Ancient:

Background: gallic village

1.2) background: menhir (ok, it's Stonehenge but I havent a decent menhir. )

2) Medieval:

White skin (face powdrer needed), monocole, sceptre and mole

3) industrial: without hat.

3.1) Background: interior with DelaCroix paint

3.2) Background: imperial style hall

4) Modern:

4.1) DeGaulle style (ok, I haven't find a colored photo of Foch ) Arc de Trionfe as symbol of French army (and flag is a nice touch, I think)

4.2) As Republic's president. With some military decoration? Statue of Liberty as brooch

Background: Louvre (or similar) with Tour Eiffel.

I actually just quit my job recently. And I'm going to be free until I leave for Virginia for my research trip. And then when I come back I'm going to get a part time job and then back to school... so I won't be able to do as much then obviously.

And no girlfriend... had one... but well, don't want to get into all that. She was a Civ fan too... what are the odds I'll find another one of those?

Actually, this book is an alternate history of the Civil War. I know its a well-trodden path, but this one has some very unique flavor to it, and it also has an infrequently used point of divergence.

Rufus was giving me a lot of good ideas on AIM about what to do with this guy... A lot of it I really wasn't sure about. Any thoughts on the modern era? He's suggested dressing him like Charles de Gaulle.


Goldflash: The title is One Nation, Divisible. It is told from the point of view of about 10 main characters and starts in mid-1861 and runs along a historical timeline until June 30, 1862 when Lee manages to close his pincers around McClellan's army at Glendale, Virginia and removes 45,000 men from the war. Things begin to spin wildly out of control as Lee's army sweeps north into Maryland and then Pennsylvania while a second army under Braxton Bragg moves quickly towards Louisville, and a power struggle begins between McClellan and his cronies and the Lincoln administration ultimately culminating in a seizure of power by the Army and Lincoln's fleeing of Washington. And so there are then two federal governments, neither one completely legitimate since Lincoln now has no Congress, and the Congress in Washington has already appointed McClellan the new President. And then things go from bad to worse... on October 7, the USS Sonora sinks the HMS Desperate which was believed to be escorting a Confederate blockade runner. Throw in French and Spanish ambitions in the New World and a growing rift between Russia and Britain, and you've got a recipe for disaster!

Little advices perhaps ? :

- the ancient era is great but he looks more like a viking, I think you could perhaps give him a more "roman" look, I mean the gallic in France had clothes very near from the Roman ... Give him chainmail for example ,and a tork ...

- the industrial looks great !!
