Leaderhead request: Louis XIV

Pessonally, I would like to see Charlemagne as the ruler of France
I'm sorry to counter you, but Charlemagne was King of the Franks (a Germanic tribe) and then Emperor of Occident. We could wonder if he was French actually, but I'd rather say no, as France as we know it today comes from the sharing of Charlemagne's empire in 843. And BTW, his capital was Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle in French), which now is a German city. In fact the Franks could be depicted as some kind of ancestors to the French, and after 843, Francia Occidentalis was some kind of proto-France. France really emerges as a "nation" (a too modern word), or a "people", in 987 when Hugues Capet was elected King of France, starting the long Capetian Dynasty, which stopped in 1848 with Louis-Philippe Ist.

Charlemagne definately isn't French, and he also isn't German (he is on some lists of the german emperors written in the era of Nationalism ;)), he also isn't Belgian, Italian or Swiss. He is Frank! How difficult can it be to get this?

Make a Frankish civ (they deserve it, I think) and he's the one leader, but not from France :)

The Franks were the ancestors of the French. The Word France originally meant land of the Franks. Also Charlemagne's Grandfather was Charles Martel who was Frankish. Now I do concede that Charlemagne's father, Pepin the Short Ruled a lot more than just "France" but still, Charlemagne was a King (and later an Emperor) of "France."

I won't discuss this anymore. I think it's the same as the ones that believe that Arthus/Artor was an english king ... I've written down my arguments and noone showed my why they were wrong (you just say, not it's the other way round). But ok, if you want to believe that Charlemagne was a king of what we now call France (that's the important part!), then do so...

rofl - enough said :D

Edit: Well to add something more but only spam :mischief: :

How about a realistic leaderhead of Louis?
He was a moblie disease ;) , his doctor removed all of his teeth at the age of - hmm I forgot - 20? , ´cause he thought this to be much healthier and the teeth the origin of most diseases  . He also broke bones by this operation (sorry lacking the english word gor "Kiefer" - is it jaw?). Due to this Louis had some serious eating probs, but he still ate for 3, with horrible consequenzes for his bowels :crazyeye: , most historians regard it as a wonder he became that old!

Hmm still spam I believe :)
