I would also like to see Israel, not because of Judaism, but because of the wars they got involved in during the 20th and 21st centuries.
How about YOU, the person who actually plays this game and allow to pick your own traits but no unique units and unique buildings
The Spanish shouldn't just be like "convert to our religion or you DIE!!!". They should get another leader in the expansion pack, at the very least, it should be Francisco Franco.
I totally agree with the sentiment... a second leader for Spain, Japan and Greece would be VERY well done. The Spanish shouldn't just be like "convert to our religion or you DIE!!!". They should get another leader in the expansion pack, at the very least, it should be Francisco Franco.
The Japanese shouldn't just be isolationists. They should also a have a new leader, at the very least, Emperor Hirohito, at the very most, Emperor Meiji (was he the leader whose reign featured the Meiji restoration?).
The Greeks shouldn't just be Aggressive maniacs. They should have a more peaceful leader with them, probably Pericles.
I can't understand why Julius Caesar stands in front of the Pantheon; it didn't exist during his time. Perhaps the Caesars should switch backgrounds?
America should have an Imperialistic leader (it is the world's 3rd largest country today, right?). That would definetely be James K. Polk.
We could say the same thing about a dozen different people.I can understand why you wouldn't want Franco in the game, but no Polk?! He was a VERY important leader in American history!
I'm not sure I would want ANY civ to have a 3rd leader, but if there was one, I suppose America would be as palatable as any. I would, nevertheless, prefer to have a new civ, you name it. Sweden, for one. Just me.Actually, America does need a 3rd leader,
Agree with all this, and more.Rome is VERY inaccurate right now with the backgrounds and leaders. What I said earlier aside, one of the Caesars keeps mentioning the Colosseum now and then. I don't remember who, but the Colosseum was built in 80 AD, after the death of both Caesars. If Firaxis wants to keep that mentioning in, they should include Hadrian in the next expansion and make him say that about watching lions in the Colosseum (something like that). Hadrian should also have Julius Caesar's present background; he built the Pantheon witch is currently JC's background. The only problem is that I don't have a clue what Julius Caesar's background would be otherwise.
I personally didn't give any credence to the methods of him, or others. Don't read into what I was saying.Franco may have been known for a bloody regime with a lot of massacring, but the same was true for Stalin and he still made the cut for Warlords.
China - Mao is FINE! China is communist today, so why not include China's first communist leader (no matter how selfish he was).
Egypt - Cleopatra was actually Macedonian. Her Egypt was the last of Alexander the Great's empire to fall into Roman hands.
England - I'd rather have Henry V. He won the Battle of Agincourt against all odds.
France - I second Charlemagne. Jeanne d' Arc is too young to lead France. In my game of Warlords that I was just playing, I discovered Fascism first, therefore getting the Free Great General named Jeanne d' Arc. Her going up from a prophet (like somebody said so) to a general is ENOUGH!!!
Germany - I want Hitler in the game! It's a surprise that he's not in already. I also like the Barbarossa idea (Frederick I Barbarossa did reforge the Holy Roman Empire). Maybe Arminius can be a German leader as well to give Germany a little "Ancient stuff".
Ottomans - Whoever said Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is out of control here! Ataturk ENDED the Ottoman Empire. I do like the Suleiman the Magnificent and Osman ideas, though. Maybe it should just be called a generic Turkish civilization instead of Ottomans.
Japan - Hirohito is definetely the best idea for a new Japanese leader. I suppose Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Oda Nobunaga, and Jimmu (the first emperor of Japan) could also work.
Hmm, there's some historical precedent for that, back in the 1200's-1400's or so. At least, they were nominally one country, until the Swedes broke away.Maybe the Viking civilization should become Scandinavia so that we can have Gustavus Adolphus as a new leader for the Scandinavian civilization.
I dont think Hitler shoud be in the game for the good of the game, I mean we fanatics dont care but what about the PRESS!!!!
Cleo should be in there, i mean she did improve the economic situation in egypt before it fell, and she was a true egyptian, although macedonian of blood as she would die for her country and flirted for its protection. I mean Catherine of Russia was german and she was a great russian who was a bit of a flirt.
I still hate Zedong. Plus why is Gandhi in there? I know he was a great political power but he never actually ruled India.
Korea needs soneone else then a crazy communist as a leader choice, i mean COME ON!!!!! Maybe like Sejong the Great of Joseon. He encouraged literature and education and was a great millitary leader
France can also have Charles VII, although he left Joan to die he did win the HUndreds years war and unite the rest of france
I wanted Henry VIII as he was king during english reinassce
Wang Kon is NOT communist!!! I don't really have another choice for a Korean leader, probably Warlord Yi Songyye or Admiral Yi-Shun-Shin.
Pericles, Constantine, these are all good ideas.
Cleopatra's acceptable, as long Firaxis makes a leader of military exploits (Charismatic/Spiritual with an Aggressive personality; well, in the league of Mao or Caesar, not as maniacal as Alex or Monty).
