Obviously in light of the reveals of which leaders will be in the game, people have been discussing which choices they do and do not like. But, one thing I was thinking was in terms of the appearances of the leaders in the game, what do people think? Also, what possible leaders that could have been chosen for the game, or could added in future DLC are there that have interesting/unique appearances?

Possible leaders which look interesting to me appearance wise are:

Spoiler :
Murad IV of the Ottomans:

What about Sargon of Akkad. Quite an accomplisment of 40 years of rule and conquest throught ancient Mesopotamia.

Benito Juarez of Mexico: A polariizing enough figure. But His stance against the French invaders is memorable. And one victory in particular was the inspiriation behind the Cinco De Mayo holiday.

Simon Bolivar for Colombia: Universally honored throughout South America for helping expel spanish rule from the continent.

I speak of appearances, not accomplishments; how people dress, how their hair looks, their physical features, how they carry themselves. Not the best leaders, but ones with the most unique looks. Silly thread I know, but why not?

Well since none of us were alive about 4000 years ago it's hard to imagine how Sargon might have dressed. But there is an ancient bust with his possible likeness.
Bolivar was an aristocrat and was quite the snappy dresser as some paintings indicate.
Benito Juarez pretty much looked the part of any statesmen in the mid-19th Century.

Off-topic: sometimes I get confused about your user name and @eMeM

I've done that too actually; I thought to myself 'when did I post that', and then realised, 'oh, wait, I didn't'.

Well, the potrayal of Sargon in the light in the east mod for civ 5 is quite cool:

Other two could look quite cool as well:

I like the idea of Timur because of his injuries (A tall leader with a pronounced limp would be a bit different).

Similarly FDR in a wheelchair comes to mind, however since he hid it from public view I'm unsure whether he'd be depicted with it in a leader scene....

Hmm. That is an interesting train of thought. You're certainly right that having a pronounced limp could affect how he was animated. Also, I did not realise he was tall, but that could be shown with camera angling (say he appears to be looking down at you like Suleiman in Civ 5), and that could help him come across as an imposing figure.

There's a notable king who had a neat scar.

For real, though, I think that Vlad Dracula, with his rather large green eyes, facial hair, and how gaunt he looks in many depictions, would be an interesting caricature/hyper-realistic portrayal. Plus big personality. :p

Yes, in terms of both iconic appearance and interesting personality, Vlad is a very good choice. Just don't watch Dracula Untold, because that film could persuade anyone otherwise.

Agree that Vlad would make a cool leadescreen and Wallachia/Transylvania has been a fan-favorite for a while.

Winston Churchill would make a really awesome leader especially in a caricature-style of Teddy Roosevelt. Puffing a cigar and starting with his bulldog look. Here's a nice drawing of him and Uncle Joe Stalin:

Louis XIV would work as a leaderscreen in the Civ 6 style, I was surprised he wasn't included (at least yet).

Yeah, but most Europeans hate Churchill these days. He is probably on the Mao/Stalin list- won't be in another Civ game.

The way they chubbed up TR and Qin, I don't think Louis XIV would fit on the screen.

To me, the drawings of Qin make him look fat, so that doesn't bother me. But if they do ever release Louis as DLC or anything, he'd better not get the teddy treatment.
