This topic is pretty cut and dry, insofar as the choices are not as numerous as Settler locations, or even Slider settings, but we need a discussion on this...

What shall we do with our Leaders?

Shall we use them to break in to the Wonder Race, netting us Contentment and Barracks across the Hemisphere?

Shall we use them to create Armies of Power, to break the 40-Degree Back?

Or shall we use them to create a Forbidden Palace or a Heroic Epic?

Discuss!

Leader #1 should be used for AoW
Leader #2 should be used for a Samurai army
Leader #3 won't come until we have nearly eliminated one of our enemies and should be used for building the Forbidden Palace.

Okay, but what if we get our Leaders before Feudalism?

Shall we have Sword Armies?

AoW? Army of Warriors?

The first leader should be used for an army (even if it's a sword army). Remember, this is vanilla Civ3, and armies are pretty much worthless. Yes, they have extra HP, but offsets the fact that they can only attack once (not 3 individual units - unless we want to mod that for the next demogame). If we build an army, we can use it to build the Heroic Epic (more GLs). With Fuedalism, we'd have pikes (not that great, actually...). Samurais come with Chivalry. That's still a ways off. We can probably be nearly done with Rome and Babylon by the time that's over with.


Remember the first Domino War? We were at war with each civ (MUCH earlier in the game, too!), and conquered 2 of them. We were just about done (I no longer have the saves readily availible - unless it's on my other computer...) right around this time.

Let's take out Rome, Babylon, regroup a little, and trigger our Golden Age with the Iroquois, and possibly take out the Zulus. It's already too late to prevent the other civs from meeting the other continent. We've waited too long to attack.

First Great Leader should create an Army. We need the benefits of an Army victory. The second GL can go for the FP.

Depending on when we get a leader.
1 - FP in Rome.
2 - Army of Samurai.
3 - A useful Wonder (Sistine's / Bach's / Smith's / TOE).

Always use the first leader to create and army. The benefits of this is that you can be able to build the Heroic Epic and Military Academy Small Wonder's. Anyother leaders can be used for whatever purpose they are needed for. The best Army would be to have it full of Samurai (boy do I hate spelling that word). Swords would be an acceptable alternative. Once the first Army is made, then getting other leaders should be easier to get.

A FP in Rome might be too close.... Maybe one up near France? (Unless we're thinking about moving our palace)
