Legendary Earth Mod (LEM)

can u make it so there are no barbarians please thankyou

As I've stated in this thread (and if you've read the included Readme) there are instructions provided in the Readme on how to enable Advanced Features (in this case, No Barbarians).

Navigate to My Documents > My Games > Sid Meier's Civilization V > MODS > Legendary Earth Mod > Readme.txt for the necessary instructions.

Hi,

I want to play your Mod as Polynesia, but it is not available, neither are half of the standard civs. I am using the DLC version of the map. The Regular LEM Map has all of the standard civs, which is Awesome, btw.

I downloaded and installed the v.11 Mod. The game is version 1.0.1.221. I use Steam to auto-update.

Im able to choose the Map Type and Load the Scenario. When I go in to choose the Civ, there are only 7 or 8 civs available. Basically, roughly half of the original civs are not available.

I've tried loading through the Mod feature and I downloaded and installed manually from your link.

Any ideas? The ONLY DLC I have purchased so far is the Polynesia pack, could that be it?

Regards,

Jaypay

I answered my own question. I downloaded the Spain and Inca pack and now I can choose everyone.

Awesome Mod, Great work!

Thank you. :)

That's good to know, I was not aware that not having all the DLC would cause such a problem (I just assumed they wouldn't show up on the map).

Enjoy!

Denmark has been confirmed as the next DLC.

I would like opinions on how to work them into the map. :) Should I try and fit them in Denmark proper or just throw them in where Stockholm/Helsinki are?

I think you should put them in Scandanavia to be used more as "The Vikings" than simply Denmark. Even the DLC itself is not really just Denmark with the inclusion of the ski infantry. Trying to put them in Denmark would make Denmark, France and Germany hard to play with such limited space available there. Europe is already so crowded.

What this guy said. Another option would be to remove Oslo and Amsterdam and make them start where Amsterdam used to be. That's probably the closest you can get to an exact start location without increasing the size of Europe again.

Also, any plans on adding the new Quebec City and Sydney city states in their appropriate locations? I would make Oceania a bit less dull and finally put a Maritime city states in the Americas for the Aztecs/Americans/Iroquois/Inca to fight over.

Dear Dark_Jedi06,

I must suggest you create a version without the American Civilizations because we Europeans find it hard to colonize the New World.
Must you do that just replace them with City-States and barbarian camps.
Anyway awesome scenario.

Maybe just without America. The other civs in the New World have always been there, and a challenge for Europeans.

Dear Oohforf,

Yes they were there but was outcompeted by the European Colonists, they brought colonial wars, disease, famine and a new race of the whites, by the end of the 19th century, most of North America has been colonized by the whites, who considered natives as inferior in a society where racism was rampant. Yes, even in Central and South America where the Latin race dominated the natives. Trust me I know because my country too was colonized by the Europeans.

*tries to find the country of Awesome on a globe* : /

Anyways, that is the truth. But if you want a very realistic experience in Civilization five, then perhaps having races that are originally native to the new world in the game. I actually plan to conceive an "EJ" (empire journal) as the English Empire, and it's trials, tribulations, and conquests (especially the new world). I've been planning it for quite some time, now. ^.^

Бог благословит и хороший день для вас.

too bad its the vikings that are going to be added
I was really hoping for the zulus especially with this map

I would like it the most if they were put in proper, maybe europe needs to be a bit bigger so it is not too hard to play, I saw that on some Civ IV earth maps. But if you play a civ in europe there is gonna be war anyway, only way to properly expand.

Thank you all for your comments...I finally got around to purchasing the Danes, but when I went to work them into the map I was dismayed to find that there is a 22 civ maximum on a map.

So the question is, who gets bumped off to make room for Denmark in the DLC version of the map? Right now I'm considering either the Greeks or the Ottomans and replacing them with a city-state instead, though I'm open to other suggestions.

As to the question raised by HisAwesomeness, the Americans will remain simply because they bring balance to North America; as it stands now only 4 civs (Aztecs, Inca, Iroquois and America) occupy the New World, leading to them gaining a significant advantage over the Old World.

You should bump off the Greeks.

I'd bump the Ottomans, how can you have a map without the Greeks?

I also agree regarding Americans. The Americas could you use another civ to further balance them. Maybe give England a starter colony? :)

Well, Greece was part of the Ottoman Empire for quite a while. It's also nice to have a muslim-centred in the Balkans/Asia. Adds some flare and culture to it.

I agree, mostly for gameplay reasons. Replacing the Greeks with an Athenian city-state leaves Eastern Europe open, particularly for the Romans who really never get beyond one city as far as I've seen. It will also give Germany some more room to expand (now that the Danes will be breathing down their necks).

Out of the two locations that need more living space, Europe definitely needs it more then the Middle East. And having the Greeks as a city-state makes some historical sense. :p
