Legendary Earth Mod (LEM)

V6 has been released.

Please download it from the CFC database, because as far as I can tell the Mod Browser was bugged by the last patch.

Enjoy. :) Critiques and bug reports are always welcome in this thread.

I just wonder why Helsinki is next to Stockholm? Usually i wouldn't care but im from Finland;) Or is there some reason for that? I just wonder if theres no space for countries because of that maybe u could just remove Helsinki? Or Stockholm:mischief:

The minimum tile distance between cities (3 tiles) means that some areas have to be distorted, including Scandinavia. I want both Stockholm and Helsinki present because it gives European nations access to two Maritime city-states and creates some interesting feuds over competition for influence. :) I've considered removing Amsterdam so that Stockholm could be more accurately placed, however I like the way it divides the French and the Germans...and keeps them from destroying each other early on. :p

Edit: Also, has anyone successfully downloaded and installed v6 from the Mod Browser?

I've tried to install LEM from within CIV5. I also have purchased all the CIV5 DLC (I think LEM needs at least some of that).

Can you please tell me how to verify that my DLC is installed and accessible. Also why when I install LEM does the folder not show up in the MODS directory? Other mods that I have installed do show up in the MODS directory.

When I try to install LEM, a file with a very strange name shows up in the MODS directory (almost looks like a partial install of LEM):

The file name is something like:

56c77a0e-c636-49ec-b0b8-ee7ba35e8cca-6

Yes, I have the same issue...I cannot download it from within the Mod Browser. In the first post, there is a link to a ZIP file uploaded to Civfanatics as an alternate download. I would suggest downloading it there until I figure out what is preventing the download from the Mod Browser.

thank you very much dark jedi. I'll try that.

Any suggestions relative to how to verify that all the DLC that i've purchased (largely to use your mod!!) is working. I dont see anything jump out at me that says the DLC is now available.

thanks again.

If you've purchased the DLC, then it should be as simple as starting up a single player game and seeing if you can play as Spain, the Inca or Polynesia. :)

Thanks for the mod. :goodjob:

I have the same issue with v6 in the mod browser. Works fine though when I put it in the folder.

I haven't finished a game on the map yet, but I have one suggestion. I'm in the process of ringing Australia with Moai, which is good fun, but the Great Barrier Reef should probably go back to taking up two tiles. It's more than a little unfair against the AI to play Polynesia and get the bonus from 4 tiles so early. I've got destroyers now going up against triremes. :king:

Manaus is a Warmonger! First CS i saw conquer more than 1 city (3 already and attacking the 4th)

Lucky they are cultural type xD

Is it possible to play this without Polynesia?

If you don't own Polynesia, then just start up the mod as usual and there should be no issue. Polynesia isn't critical to balancing the game as right now they don't like to expand and Oceania generally falls to Siam, China and Japan.

Spain and the Inca are crucial, however, to balancing the map.

If you don't own any of the DLC, wait for the non-DLC version to be released...once the Mod Browser gets its act together.

Fixed!

The upload issue was related to a problem with Gamespy and the installation issue had to do with the "/" in the mod title. Both are now fixed and the mod can be downloaded and installed successfully. :)

Still no luck making mods private though! :p

No problems with that either now!

I started a new game with v8 and Moscow is in Italy, and Rome is in Australia. I started another game and made sure I was loading the scenario and got the same thing.

That's why you'll be wanting version 9. ;)

Hello first of all i want to thank you for this map having a lot of fun with it right now.
however i have been noticing very little action between major powers and cs no alliances no fighting and or conquering of a cs.
i havent played civ5 for a long time, so maybe it has all been changed and having no cs with any alliances except mine is normal atm.I was really just wondering if thats normal maybe you changed something somehow.
I am playing as songhai, emperor lvl and most of the major powers including my own are in the renaisance era.

with regards remco

ps it is just my first game with it so maybe in the new game it will be different.

Thanks, but that version seems to be missing the DLC civs. :)

There are two maps included, "Legendary Earth" and "Legendary Earth (DLC)", the latter of which obviously being balanced with the DLC civs. They are both listed in the map menu.

I have downloaded the mod directly from the hub and not had any problems with missing maps, etc.
