Thanks for these videos. They're great! I don't think they're too fast or too slow. But I am missing the game sounds. Is there a way you could get the game sounds in on future installments?
Also a word of advice, set the videos as replies to each other so that viewers can more easily navigate through the videos in the correct order.

I was thinking you'd settle your 2nd city on the plains hill but then I remembered you were after the horses asap.
It looks like you're having an easy time at Monarch. I was kinda hoping you'd do Emperor level but beggars can't be choosers.
I assume you are running your window'd game at the lowest resolution possible? It's true it's blurry but I can still just barely make out the numbers etc. if I put it full screen. When I have filmed game footage before I used fraps (as someone mentioned earlier). The production software I used was a trial version of Sony Vegas Pro (8.0 I think) but that is horribly expensive if you want to go past the 30 days. I'm just mentioning in case you are looking at alternatives.
As for uploading your video files to something like filefront... This is a good idea as most of us who want/need to watch it would be willing to download it. It might be twice as much download as watching it on youtube but the extra quality is worth it. Unfortunately youtube does nasty things to most video formats.
In case you haven't already done so, make sure all graphics settings are on minimum as when you run video capture software the framerate can take a massive hit, but I'm not sure whether you've noticed this yet ... it could just be the encoding quality that is making the frame rate pretty bad.

I know you're really not interested in feedback on the game itself, rather the process but I can't help but get a smile every time I see good land in a Civ game. Nice future bureau capital, and great starting production city which I'm assuming we'll see turn into you HE barracks city.
Loving the "Let's Play" element of the game. Hope to see more in the future.

There was actually another playthrough floating around on YouTube (before TMIT), but that was also on Settler/Marathon. At least that one was BtS.
It is on BtS, he just uses a custom main title that you can switch in the options.
He even says it on the first video.
Furthermore, there are a number of elements from BtS:
-Boudica, Hammurabi, Charlemagne, Pacal II, etc. in the droplist of civ choices
-Random Events which he disables
-Aesthetics
-Espionage slider
-etc.
He also did mention the other playthrough in his OP.

Good job, are you thinking on doing a few more? You could illustrate different important strategies this way. Maybe not even complete playthroughs, but, for example, REX, isolation, various economies, ...

I'm adjusting with the videos and whatnot. The reason these parts are taking so long to upload is that the next couple are in a large file format...I'm going to convert them which may help performance on youtube as well.
I don't think my laptop can do a whole lot better than parts 3-7 under the current format, but I'll keep trying things until I run out.
I'll try to get a few more parts in as well and once up through 7 is done I'll link these videos together or something (people make these LPs into a series such that youtube viewers can just play all at once, I'll figure that out).
As for monarch vs emp or immortal...I'm doing monarch first. I can win 50/50 immortal, and pretty good on emperor, BUT...actually recording this way is an adjustment and I've noted it hurting my play a bit. I DON'T think that will be the case once I'm used to doing it, so I'll bump it up if I do more of these.
