Lets set up a PBEM!

Oh did I mention? Turn out to Kai.

after hard fight in australian waters, turn send to Dazz.

Borgg well done on the japanese fleet but my transportship are harder than they look and they can sunk destroyer as well, sorry :).

 What you say? ... transports can attack? Didn't consider that. :hammer2: :wallbash:. But the result had been worse if your BS had attacked with collateral damage on my fleet. And i sunk some of your fighters as well. This was best i could do with my fleet i guess. Further i got some of your fleet in indonesian harbor ;-). So even if you wiped my fleet and even got sidney or brisbane it was a good turn for me :crazyeye:

btw: hey italian? Missing your fleet? :yumyum:

thats the important thing i learned from that match. "DONT PUT SHIPS IN CITYS" (when Borgg is near)

Well, not absolutely true. I have all my ships in cities, just in the vicinity of borgg's heartland. The important thing to do is to keep enough land force to defend them.:)

That's true. I guess I am so used to ships being rather safe in cities (from AI games) that I did not consider the possibility, and neglected to defend the city properly.

But in the end, that's what makes this kind of game challenging.

That was much luck. From my spyactivities i have cityview for all italian and german cities. Futher the town west of tunis was still in french posession. Therefore i've seen your fleet leaving. It was pretty predictable when it would arrive in this harbor. One submarine checking than, if you really do city hopping, so i knew if it makes sense to prepare the transport and leave it defenseless in the atlantic. I was so scared i get wiped by any german sub. But lucky me :crazyeye:

I even thought i had to fight the portugese too...but no. Even my first strike (14% chance) made it. I hade 3 more and hoped they would manage this mission.

Question: Does the city defense and all defense boni count for your italian inf too? (As if it was a portugese unit?)

That's a really good question. Since you have open borders with the portugese, maybe I do not get the defense bonus. I did not check the combat log though.

Well, this will not happen to me again :-P

Oh Ok. So you knew it long time ago? And you can see all the Germans and Italian cities? That's no good :crazyeye:

The question you asked is something I always wonder too. May be need to do a test on it.

It is partly my fault too. I actually saw that transport the previous turn. I was thinking of giving you a warning but due to the pending status of the game and my over confidence on our coastal defend that made me didn't.

That is a point we must think about. There are only a little points needed (f.e. i as Japanese need only 360 Points to investigate all britain citys and if a regulate the Spy Points to 100% i got 1000 Points a turn) to see enemy citys. it is likely unrealistic that i can see all britain, Chinese und Netherlnds Citys (with all Units in it) after the first turn.

Can you set this point-Niveau per hand to lets say 10.000 Points or so?

He can't but you can. Any point you put into counter espionage does increase the needed spy points significantly. Thats the reason the USA is placing (even if only a token number) of points vs everyone.

Well, I've put all my espionage points towards Britain but he still can see my cities. I don't recall Britain can generate much larger espionage points than me.

File out to bastian.

To the spypoints. I put some turns 20 or 30% of GNP on spy, because the initial price for city visibility was increasing. So i expected you would put all your spy activity on me. But i hoped you would not spend some % of GNP to espionage. Obviously i was right. But i missed to place some spy to my other counterparts (japan). I put australian spy on him (and could see all jap cities as well).

So... if anyone is worth to put GNP on the espionage it should effect in advance for him. As we can see the diffrencies result out from different spy targets. Thats life, but no question of balancing. Each of us focued to much on "offensive" spy activities, while forgetting the defense.

I see. We also put our espionage points on different players from each of our 3 civ, but we didn't spent any GNP on it.

And I spent no Points to nobody at all hehe.

Must I remember for the next Game "Spypoints to Borgg, no ships in cit.....":D The List is increasing.

Thats not nice that i must put my Money in to that espionage thingie. what about my atombomb then?

Borgg, since you shared with us your strategy, I would also like to contribute my two cents.

The weakest link of the Axis is oil in the history and same in the scenario. If you have concentrated your fighters and bombers to destroy our oil fields in the first two turns, which is absolutely possible, the game would be very different. You have told me that you think there is no hope to stop Germany from invading Britain. What if you didn't even give me a chance to build transport in the first place? With only one transport ship to start with, no matter how large a land force Germany has, there is no way to use them on UK. There is the option of paratroopers, but i would rather turn my attention else where instead.
